Job Description:
**Job Overview**
The Digital Data Networks Business Unit is looking for a Customer Engineer Manager to Manage the Customer Engineering team. The team is doing frontend technical support for local Sales/FAEs to ensure the design win for NPI project on switches, servers and storage industry. The frontend technical support includes customer drawing creation, customer viewing 3D model creation, customer facing SI works, Compliance data, customer requested approval sheet, testing/measurement data and Mock-up sample build. In this role you will be responsible for timely and accurate data for the sales/FAE team. This manager needs to prioritizing customer requirements and maintaining a customer service mindset. Besides front support to Sales/FAEs, he/she needs to support team member to collaborate with product development engineer team for the product portfolio update and handover works.
**Job Requirements**
• Provide strong technical assist for Sales/FAEs to ensure the success of design in activity.
• Manage customer drawing request from Sales/FAEs:
o Review and judge the request is for customer engineering team or PDE.
o Assigns the task to responsible engineer.
o Prioritize request and assign to responsible engineer.
o Assist team members to clarify frontend request.
o Assist team members to clarify handover the design to PDE and sample making.
• Manage SI request from customer:
o Get sufficient support from internal product SI team.
o Tracking SI activities and ensure the direction can close the issue effective.
• Manage Compliance data maintenance and approval sheet creation
o Tracking open items and prioritize request
o Looking for internal resource to get proper data needed.
• Manage test request and the lab operation.
o Prioritize test/measurement request and clarify the details of the test/measurement.
o Review the test/measurement report, discuss with PDE if necessary.
• Manage mock-up sample request.
o Understand the sample request and prioritize mock-up sample request.
o Ensure the collaborate between sample engineer and customer engineer.
o Manage the sample status
• People Management:
o Provides sufficient training for team members.
o Provide development resource for team members to expand their capability for frontend support.d design history files.
**What your background should look like**
• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent work experience
• 8 years of work experience with connector/cable assembly design.
• Familiarity with connector/Cable used in server/switch equipment.
• Knowledge in relevant mechanic design and development, including but not limited to, material selection, tolerance analysis, DFMEA, product qualification, etc.
• Proficiency in 2D/3D Design Applications (such as AutoCad, ProE or Spaceclaim)
• Basic knowledge in raw material, connector industry standard, and product application
• Basic knowledge in manufacturing process (machining, molding, stamping, plating, assembly, etc.)
• Basic knowledge in connector test standard
• Basic knowledge in product compliance and related regulation
• Familiarity with quality tools (FMEA, 6sigma, DOE, 8D, etc.)
• Fluent in English (both verbal and written) to facilitate global communication both internally and with external customers.
• Ability to work in a global environment – able to accommodate varying time zones and capable of collaborating with individuals across geographies.
• Open minded, coachable, willing to learn new skills, and motivated to grow.
• This role emphasizes designing products that align closely with customer requirements, maintaining a proactive customer service mindset throughout the development process.
Nice To Have Skills/Experience:
• Basic knowledge of transmission line/signal integrity concepts is helpful in completing required tasks.
• Understanding/experience on thermal simulation.
• Strong organizational and time management skills with an ability to manage and execute multiple tasks/deadlines/projects simultaneously with limited direction.
• Skilled problem solver – able to use data analytics and critical thinking to reach logical conclusions
• Proficient using MS office software (Word, Excel, PPT, Outlook, MS Teams, etc.)
