This position will provide legal advice and support to the business as follows:

·   Provide legal advice and support to all American Express legal entities in Mexico (“AMEX”), for all the business strategies and launching of new products and/or projects or commercial alliances

·         Legal advice and follow-up with outside counsels for labor, criminal, social security, privacy and commercial lawsuits

·         Coordinate and administrate outside counsel firms, notaries public, manage budget and litigation reserves reports

·         Create or support the implementation of legal strategies

·      Legal analysis of new regulation or amendments to existing regulation, applicable to AMEX, identifying main impacts to inform and implement them in timely manner

·     Guide management on regulatory and compliance issues and coordinate efforts to comply with local legislation and support compliance of internal policies

·  Negotiate, review, draft and analyze contracts to be executed by AMEX, with clients, third party vendors, intercompanies, business partners, etc.

QUALIFICATIONS

·    Expertise in litigation & coordination of outside counsels / banking, consumer, labor, criminal, commercial and data privacy regulation

·         Agile legal analysis and decision making

·         Effective interaction with business lines and regulators

·         Efficient and agile regulatory analysis and implementation

·         Leadership skills / communication, decision making, goals orientation & problem solving

·         Bachelor’s degree in Law (specialization or master degree´s desirable)

·         Experience as in-house lawyer in financial institutions desirable

·         Excellent communication skills, both verbal and writing

·         Team player, use to work in very demanding environments

·         Adaptability to change

·         Business / Legal English verbal and writing
