THE PURPOSE OF THIS JOB
To drive the company's business transformation towards the realization of a \"smoke-free future,\" this position will:
Drive the company’s transformation toward a smoke-free future by developing and executing medium- to long-term CSR (corporate social responsibility) strategies that create societal value. Evaluate and enhance existing programs and design new initiatives aligned with the company’s vision to address social issues, strengthen stakeholder engagement, and enhance corporate value
ACCOUNTABILITY
Strategy development: Develop medium- to long-term CSR strategies based on the company's vision, business strategy, stakeholder expectations, and social conditions. Evaluate and improve existing programs and propose new initiatives that contribute to the company's business transformation and the realization of a \"smoke-free future.\" Obtain management team approval for key business strategies and plans and ensure necessary alignment with internal stakeholders prior to execution.CSR program management: Plan, propose, implement, and evaluate impact-oriented CSR programs that are consistent with the company’s vision and government affairs strategy. Contribute to solving social issues and enhancing corporate value through the evaluation and improvement of existing programs and the launch of new programs. Build and maintain best in class relationship at top management level by proactively identifying and actioning relevant opportunities that create engagement through business partnershipStakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including NPOs, NGOs, local communities, and government agencies, to promote collaboration and maximize the impact of CSR initiatives. Participate in key planning processes by proactively sharing trade perspective and giving necessary upfront input from initial stageInternal Collaboration: Collaborate closely with relevant departments within PMJ (Government Affairs, Corporate Communications, Legal, Compliance etc.) and PMI headquarters and the regional headquarters, aligning CSR initiatives with overall business objectives. Strategic Communications: In close collaboration with Corporate Communications, formulate and execute external communication strategies to effectively articulate social contributions and enhance corporate equity, ensuring consistent but tailored messaging across channels.Team Management: Lead and develop team members, fostering a high-performing and collaborative team environment. Set clear objectives, provide coaching and mentoring, conduct performance reviews, and promote continuous improvement.
REQUIREMENTS
Bachelor’s degree Preferred experience working with Japanese government entities or involvement in inter-governmental negotiationsNative level of Japanese, and Business level of English communication skill is required.Understanding of legal frameworks and politics of Japanese government.Proven capability as a project leader, also from cross functional teams and projects. Excellent communication and presentation skills.Excellent organizational, planning, analytical and implementation skillsExperience in CSR, sustainability, or public affairs is a plus
