Manager - Cloud/AIX Engineer
Position Overview: We are seeking a Linux/Cloud Administrator with strong technical expertise in managing Linux systems on prem and on cloud platforms. The ideal candidate will have experience with GCP, AWS, and Azure, as well as proficiency with VMware VMs, and Linux distributions like Ubuntu, SUSE, and RHEL as well as AIX. This role demands a proactive approach to system administration, patching, capacity planning, and automation. Experience with Puppet, Ansible and Terraform are essential for success in this position. Key Responsibilities: + Day-to-day administration of Linux/AIX systems, including troubleshooting, configuration, and support. + Cloud administration on platforms such as GCP, AWS, or Azure, ensuring optimal system performance and security. + Manage virtualized environments with VMware, ensuring high availability and resource optimization. + Perform patching and software updates for Linux environments to maintain security and stability. + Capacity and performance planning to ensure systems are scaled appropriately and performing optimally. + Server deployment and configuration using automation tools such as Puppet and Ansible. + Develop, maintain, and execute infrastructure as code (IaC) with Terraform for cloud resource provisioning. + Use ServiceNow to track incidents, changes, and service requests. + Ensure comprehensive documentation of system configurations, processes, and procedures to support operational excellence. + Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including app and security teams, to support system integration. Required Qualifications: + 6+ years of experience in Linux system administration (Ubuntu, SUSE, RHEL) with extensive knowledge of AIX + 2+ years of recent experience supporting cloud platforms (GCP, AWS, or Azure) and virtualization with VMware. + 1+ years of expertise in automation and configuration management with Puppet or Ansible as well as managing infrastructure using Terraform. + 1+ year in people/process management + Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration or equivalent educational and/or equivalent relevant professional experience + Limited immigration sponsorship may be available + Ability to travel up to 10%, on average, based on the work you do Preferred Qualifications: + Certifications such as RHCSA, RHCE, AWS Certified SysOps Administrator, Azure Administrator Associate, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Engineer. + Experience with patch management and system updates across diverse Linux environments. + Experience with containerization technologies like Docker and Kubernetes. + Strong analytical skills for capacity planning and performance tuning. + Knowledge of IT service management processes, particularly with ServiceNow. + Ability to write, maintain, and improve technical documentation. + Familiarity with security best practices for Linux and cloud environments. + Knowledge of scripting languages (Bash, Python, etc.) for task automation. + Experience with IBM Power H/W and AIX virtualization technology + Prior experience with HPE HANA appliance would be appreciated. The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled. At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current range is $102,000 to $189,000. You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
