This position manages and performs the collection of all types of university accounts receivable, including but not limited to current, delinquent, and non-student receivables, as well as Perkins Loan receivables. This position manages and assists in registration, billing, payment, and deposit services for 32,000+ customers in accordance with current federal, state, and university regulations. 25% Assists LSU students/parents/departments with LSU registration questions and issues by email/phone/in-person/virtually. Oversees the collection process and submission of delinquent student and non-student accounts receivable to the collection agency. 25% Supervise four full-time employees, which includes but is not limited to evaluating the employee's performance, providing training and mentoring, reviewing and approving work product, coordinating professional development, and approving leave. Point of contact for campus departments for waiver and student charge EIBs and templates. 25% Oversee processing of the Greek fees, reimbursements, and related entries. Oversee the release of fellowship payments to enrolled students. Oversee posting of private scholarships. Responsible for running the unapplied payment reports and reconciling information. Contact departments to make corrections on awards/waivers as needed. 15% Data Steward for the ECSI contract for Perkins Loan Servicing. Perform reconciliations of payments and reports and record transactions into Workday. Responsible for contract renewal and invoice payments. Prepares annual Perkins Loan FISAP report due to the Department of Education. 10% Perform other duties as assigned by management. Experience Substitute: 3 years of professional experience with collections, banking, or a bursar operation can be substituted for the 24 hours of accounting. This position requires the ability to sit in the same position for extended periods (3.5 to 4 hours) at a time using continuous hand motions when entering data into the computer system. This position requires the ability to communicate clearly and effectively through the use of phone, email, and direct contact with individuals (including conducting training sessions and presentations). Scheduled or non-scheduled overtime may be required to meet the needs of the division. This position regularly engages in financial matters, including handling credit cards, cash, grant funds, or other university funds, and must undergo a credit check per FASOP HR-04.
