Manager - Alternative Assets
About the Role: Grade Level (for internal use): 10 The Team: Manager - Alternative Assets Responsibilities & Impact: The candidate will research asset information including but not limited to corporate actions (i.e. Dividends, Stock Splits, Identifier changes, etc.), validate prices used for index calculations and research shares and free float information. The candidate must therefore have a good understanding of alternative assets like crypto, private markets etc. This is a global role, with the opportunity to fully support the Global Universe Management team within IMPG. This role is responsible for all aspects of an assigned group of assets and this role will help the team research and present recommendations on the treatment of corporate actions in line with our policies and procedures methodology. Research and Analysis on Market Driven Events Closely monitor and track corporate actions (i.e. Splits, Dividends, Identifier changes, etc.). Monitor multiple news sources for new corporate action announcements and analyze how these actions will affect indices. Research, input, interpret and verify corporate actions for assigned markets and ensure they are correctly applied in our systems, in line with SPDJI policies and procedures. Research, analyze and maintain company share, free float information on a regular basis. Present analysis to the team on proposed corporate action treatments. Provide backup functions for team members for daily production workflows. Price Validation and Quality Control Validate system-captured prices for hundreds of assets. Review asset pricing against multiple sources and resolve discrepancies in order to meet SLAs. Propose ways to improve/streamline processes. Help to plan, test and implement workflow changes and participate in the team's quality assurance processes. Technology Create and support automation tools and processes used by the team. Become a subject matter expert on technology systems used to maintain S&P Dow Jones Indices. Must demonstrate an ability to learn and adapt to new technologies and platforms. Help test enhancements to our systems and processes. Customer Focus and Communication Responsibilities Maintain customer focus by considering the client impact of changes to indices, communicate changes to other impacted teams in a clear and timely manner. Provide timely, complete and accurate responses to client enquiries, working with our client experience team as appropriate. What We’re Looking For: Basic Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in a finance-related subject. Fluency in English, both written and spoken, is required. Good understanding of financial markets. Must be able to work independently. Must be able to demonstrate strong analytical and quantitative capabilities. Excellent computer skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and related applications. Programming skills and experience preferably in Python, VBA and SQL. Proficient in interpreting and analyzing corporate filings and related documents. Preferred Qualifications: CFA or advanced degree in business, math, economics, or finance preferred. Experience with corporate action research. Understanding of how indices are used and the impact corporate events have on indices.
