JOB SUMMARY:
To manage and coordinate through subordinate staff the general accounting function for Textron Aviation and other financial and/or administrative functions as deemed appropriate.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Manages the general accounting functions for Textron Aviation:
Maintenance of the general ledger system and related accounting records in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and corporate policies and procedures.
Coordination and/or oversight for accounting activities from subsidiary entities recorded in Textron Aviation’s general ledger.
Timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and analysis and reconciliation of Textron Aviation’s various components of financial data to provide segment consolidated financial reporting to Textron’s Corporate Controller to meet Corporate, external and internal management requirements.
Development, implementation and maintenance of accounting policies and procedures and internal controls as necessary.
Manages the month-end close process for Textron Aviation; responsible for the oversight of all related systems, processes, procedures and schedules necessary to ensure timely, accurate reporting of actual financial information for the Textron Aviation reporting segment.
Manages and maintains Textron Aviation’s processes for reporting actual accounting results through Textron’s consolidation system (Hyperion Financial Manager) and is primary point of contact with Textron Corporate Controller’s office for matters pertaining to submitted results.
Prepares and/or coordinates the submittal of the quarterly closing package and various required financial reports for the Textron Corporate Controller’s group.
Performs research and analysis to determine appropriate accounting treatment for emerging issues.
Works with peer accounting managers to provide ongoing review and oversight of Textron Aviation’s balance sheet accounts.
Coordinates and provides financial data and related information in support of outside and internal audit activities.
Coordinates the training and development activities of subordinates to ensure adequate technical skills are maintained and supervisory skills are developed.
Performs required personnel functions and/or guides subordinate supervision, including development reviews, recommending salary adjustments, interviewing applicants, disciplinary actions, counseling, etc.

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s degree required in Accounting, Finance, or other related fieldsCPA preferred but not requiredMinimum of 7 years of accounting or related experience required.QUALIFICATIONS:
