Description We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead and oversee a dynamic accounting team in Newark, Delaware. This role involves managing the preparation of financial statements, ensuring compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls, and driving process improvements across accounting operations. The ideal candidate will bring strong leadership skills, a commitment to accuracy, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities:
• Direct and oversee the monthly and quarterly financial close process, ensuring all financial transactions are recorded accurately and on time.
• Prepare and analyze monthly and quarterly financial reports, identifying trends, researching variances, and providing actionable recommendations.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address accounting issues, support planning and forecasting, and contribute to strategic decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley controls, implementing necessary updates to maintain regulatory standards.
• Partner with internal and external auditors to facilitate audits and regulatory reporting requirements.
• Evaluate and improve existing accounting processes, leveraging technology to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Lead special projects related to automation, regulatory changes, or process enhancements.
• Manage, mentor, and develop a team of accountants, fostering a culture of collaboration and growth.
• Communicate financial results and insights to leadership, providing data-driven recommendations to support business goals.
• Monitor and improve operational workflows to resolve issues and achieve organizational objectives. Requirements • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• Proven experience in accounting management, including overseeing financial close processes and preparing financial statements.
• Strong knowledge of Sarbanes-Oxley requirements and compliance practices.
• Excellent analytical skills with the ability to work with large data sets and perform variance analysis.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor teams, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
• Proficiency in financial reporting, account reconciliation, and process improvement.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Experience with audit processes and regulatory reporting requirements.
