We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA) part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop-fold aircraft. 

This position is onsite at Bell’s Headquarters in Fort Worth, TX.

Bell Certification

Bring your experience and ideas to Bell’s ODA to ensure compliance with FAA regulations for conformity inspections and airworthiness activities in support of our TC, STC, and PC FAA projects. This role is responsible for monitoring/supervising ODA Unit Members performing FAA conformity inspection and airworthiness activities on Bell’s FAA projects. You will interface with the FAA, other regulatory agencies, suppliers, and internal stakeholders in this role. By ensuring regulatory compliance and managing these critical functions and supervision of the team, the Manager-Production Certification plays a vital role in delivering a safe and compliant aircraft.

What you’ll be doing as a Manager – Production Certification

Accountable to the FAA Organization Management Team (OMT) (Certificate Management Sections, CMS Flight Standards District Offices, FSDO) for maintaining compliance to FAA regulation, orders, and guidance material for FAA conformity inspections and airworthiness activities conducted by Bell Organizational Delegated Authority (ODA) Unit Members defined in Title 14 Code of Federal Regulation 183 and FAA Order 8100.15.Interface with the FAA OMT and other Civil Regulatory Agencies regarding ODA requirements and completion of authorized functionsManage certification, conformity inspection, and airworthiness activities for FAA Type Certification (TC), Supplemental Type Certification (STC), and/or Production Certification (PC) projects at Bell Helicopter facilities, sites and delegated suppliersMaintain Individual Unit Member Function Sheets for Manufacturing/Maintenance Unit Members (MMUMs) (ODA Form ODAF.52)Notify MMUMs of any changes to current FAA regulations, policy and guidance material that would affect their areas of authorized functionsOrganize, create, maintain, and update the BHTI-provided ODA Unit Training materialsMMUM appointment and performance evaluationsMaintain an ODA Unit Member Roster for MMUMsIdentify and manage the MMUM talent poolManage Production Certificate activities and QSA oversightSubmit quarterly Manufacturing/MRA Summary Activity Reports to FAA OMT for activity performed at all BHT facilitiesReview and approval of MMUMs conformity inspection reportsManage ODA-related supplier activitySubmit airworthiness packages that contain original documents directly to the appropriate CMS

Skills You Bring To this Role

Excellent oral/written communication skillsSelf-starter, highly organized

What you need to be successful

Bachelor’s degree required. Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered. 10 years’ experience working with the FAA pertaining to Production Certification, Type Certification, Supplemental Type Certification or Maintenance Repair and Alteration projects.Ability to travel based on business needsPrevious Organization Delegated Authorization experience as a unit member or administrator, preferred.
