Manager, Warehouse

The Warehouse Manager will be responsible for all day-to-day operations with the internal warehouse, including management of the warehouse supervisor, while assisting with the warehouse personnel across all three shifts. The Warehouse Manager will also negotiate contracts with 3PL warehouse providers and monitor operations, logistics, and adherence to BC operating standards at those facilities. Management of inventory at all warehouse locations is required. Budgetary responsibilities include labor forecasting, 3PL and external storage budgetary estimates, and warehouse equipment leasing and capital purchase recommendations. 

 

Key responsibilities include: 

 

Development and tracking of warehouse KPIs to measure and improve performance. Management of daily warehouse activities and assignment of personnel to specific jobs. Provide direction to 2nd and 3rd shift leads regarding daily assignments and expectations. Approve time off, monitor attendance, and evaluate the performance of direct reports. Resolve conflicts, with HR assistance, if needed. Monitor inventory and manage cycle counts and physical inventories at BC warehouses and 3PLs. Enforce GMP requirements and ensure forklift and safety training(s) are up to date. Ensure employees are cross trained on warehouse duties to ensure all warehouse functions can be completed even with minimum staffing. Manage the WMS system within SAP, must be a subject matter expert. Continuously evaluate operational processes to define and develop operational improvements and SOPs. Provide reporting on warehouse performance and inventory levels at all warehouses Conduct regular visits and evaluations at 3PL warehouses. Ensure FIFO product rotation is occurring at all warehouses Negotiate contracts and rates with 3PL warehouses. Coordinate with Transportation Manager to facilitate movement of product to and from outside warehouses and for inbound and outbound appointment scheduling. Work with finance and engineering to prepare fiscal year capital and operating budgets.

 

About you:

 

Bachelor’s Degree in Operations or Business-related field 5-10 years in warehouse management or related field Experience in managing multiple employees Proficient in Word, Excel, and SAP. Demonstrate WMS system skills, preferably within SAP. Analytical skills.
