The Manager, Technical Writer oversees the creation, review, and lifecycle management of AI engineering documentation, reporting to the AI Excellence Lead. This role sets and enforces standards for Applied AI Engineering and Solution design artefacts, SDK/component guides, and reusable patterns, ensuring documentation is accurate, auditable, and compliant. It produces developer‑focused content—guides, blueprints, and code samples—to drive adoption of AI SDKs and components. Acting as a key collaborator with architects, engineers, and platform teams, the role aligns documentation with evolving practices and lifecycles. Additionally, it manages governance, KPIs, and continuous improvement to maintain high‑quality, user‑oriented technical content across the organization.

With some oversight this role:

Authors, reviews, and finalizes technical documentation for AI engineering solutions, including SDK guides, component references, and architecture artefacts, collaborating with project teams and subject matter experts.

Organizes compliance and governance activities to ensure documentation meets security, regulatory, and internal standards.

Leverages standardized templates and best practices to maintain completeness, clarity, and consistency across all deliverables.

Operates in a matrix environment, partnering with AI engineers, solution architects, platform teams, and vendor partners to align documentation with evolving technologies and lifecycles.

Contributes to continuous improvement of documentation processes, templates, and style guides.

Stays current with emerging AI technologies and tools to ensure documentation reflects the latest practices and innovations.

Demonstrates a strong commitment to meeting the needs and expectations of internal stakeholders and developer communities.

Prior Experience:

5+ years’ experience in technical writing or related roles.

Proven track record creating and managing documentation for SDKs, APIs, and complex software systems.

Experience developing developer enablement content such as guides, tutorials, and code samples.

Hands-on involvement in software development lifecycles, including agile and iterative delivery models.

Familiarity with compliance and governance processes for technical documentation.

Collaboration within matrix organizations and across cross-functional teams (engineering, architecture, product, vendors).

Capabilities and Experience:

Outstanding communication skills, both written and verbal

Meticulous attention to detail

Ability to produce and track multiple deliverables in parallel

Manage cross team collaborative efforts

Willingness to work either informally or formally contributing on various-size teams of technologists, IT professionals or project managers using Agile, DevOps, and other approaches for iterative development of Applied AI

Ability/desire to collaborate and work effectively in team settings, frequently in virtual teams with client partner and customer engagement responsibilities

Nice to have:

Multimedia Integration: Ability to incorporate graphs, videos, and illustrations into documentation to enhance clarity and engagement.

Website Design/Management: Experience in designing, managing, or maintaining documentation portals or knowledge bases.

User Interface Awareness: Understanding of UI principles to ensure documentation aligns with intuitive user experiences and complements product design.

Required Aptitude:

Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy, compliance, and governance standards

Ability to lead documentation initiatives and influence best practices across diverse teams

Excellent organizational skills to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a dynamic environment

Collaborative mindset for working in a matrix structure with engineers, architects, and vendor partners
