BWXT is currently seeking a Manager, Technical Accounting for its Tysons Corner, VA location!

 

The Manager, Technical Accounting, is a highly visible business partner responsible for conducting in-depth research on new and existing accounting standards and determining the impact on the Company’s financial results and operations and ensures compliance with accounting standard requirements and internal policy. 

The role will also be responsible for producing and maintaining accounting and reporting for the Company’s stock compensation, pension and other employee benefit plans and is the primary liaison between external auditors, human resources and other parties for our annual employee benefit plan audits.

 

 

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

Manages technical accounting activities including evaluation and implementation of new accounting standards, accounting for non-routine or complex transactions and providing guidance to internal stakeholders. Manages internal accounting policies to ensure compliance with accounting standards and business operations. Keeps abreast of US GAAP, SEC and other regulatory standards and evaluate their impact on financial results and disclosure requirements. Assists with the implementation of new regulatory standards including the facilitation of trainings or other communications, as required. Oversees the accounting and reporting for stock compensation, pension and other post-employment benefit plans. Manages the annual audit of the Company's employee benefit plans and assists with audit inquiries from external auditors. Assists, as needed, in the preparation and oversight of accurate and timely financial statements and reports, ensuring compliance with US GAAP, SEC regulations, and industry-specific standards.

 

Required Minimum Qualifications:  

Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. Must have an active CPA license. Minimum of 6 years of experience in finance or accounting roles. In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SEC regulations. Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting. Proficiency in financial software and systems, including ERP systems and advanced Excel skills. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. High attention to detail and strong organizational skills.

 

Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship. Must be able to obtain and maintain a Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance.

Pay: $76,000 - $116,000

 

The base salary range for this position in District of Columbia (US-DC) at the start of employment is expected to be between $76,000 and $116,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement.  The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
