Cardinal Health Canada is currently seeking a Manager, Surgical & Specialty, Ontario to focus on and drive profitable growth for the Cardinal Health portfolio of products. This key role will develop a regional strategy in collaboration with marketing and lead the growth of our Cardinal branded surgical and specialty products across the province of Ontario. Leading, coaching and supporting the business, clinical team and sales representatives

Key Focus Areas:

Be a trusted leader to evolve the current business model, implement go-to-market strategies to deliver focused value-added products and offerings to our customers and partners.

Work collaboratively with other Cardinal Health Canada leaders and team members to develop and implement consolidated customer specific business plans that takes a ‘One Cardinal’ approach.

Lead, coach and mentor Territory Managers to build and deliver scalable sales results across the Acute care market.

Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of the industry, including key competitors, technology, trends, challenges, funding and government regulation; demonstrate advanced knowledge of how Cardinal Health offerings impact customers.

Demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of customers’ successes, challenges, and strategic objectives; draws from experience and significant financial acumen to recognize and provide advice regarding potential opportunities and risks.

Work directly with senior healthcare leaders to develop and implement territory plans in line with product and service marketing priorities, including key stakeholder mapping.

Guide Territory Managers through the preparation of bids, price quotes, RFP responses, and presentations for distribution services and product portfolio.

Focus on sales, account planning discipline and process, continuous improvement and strategic development of the business model.

Support and coach Territory Managers in the development of their sales pipelines with growth opportunities in line with the strategic plan.

Mentor and coach execution of territory plans through regular business and pipeline reviews.

Enable the development a cross-divisional account plan with other sales divisions to drive overall Cardinal Health Canada growth in accounts and achieve profitability goals.

Contribute to annual and long-range financial planning and be accountable for team success.

Accountable to accurately forecast regional performance.

This Job might be for you if: 

Bachelor’s degree in related field, or equivalent work experience, preferred.

8+ years of experience in commercial sales and leadership including experience in product sales to acute care hospitals. Proven sales leadership and management experience in a complex product and distribution selling environment within the acute care sector of the healthcare system.

People leader experience in managing, coaching and developing talent. 

Ability to prioritize multiple projects, programs and objectives.

Demonstrate cross-functional leadership skills, ability to navigate cultural and differing perspectives, including stakeholder engagement with sales, marketing, operational and technical functions.

Strong conceptualization skills – demonstrated ability to visualize complex concepts in a way that drives understanding and decision-making.

Demonstrated successful track record in delivering sales and gross profit results above budget expectations.

Existing customer relationships within strategic levels of customer organizations; familiarity with GPO organizations and relationships within SSO organizations and acute care hospitals.

Financial accountability experience including sales, margin, operating costs and net income.

Knowledge of market dynamics within Acute market and strong customer and external environment orientation. Ability to build mutually beneficial networks and partnerships with key external leaders and agencies to develop value-generating solutions.

Strategic approach to problem-solving and proactive troubleshooting abilities.

Results focused with a strong sense of urgency.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.  

Agile experience: related to roadmap planning and strategy.

Regional travel required, approximately 50%.
