WHO WE ARE LOOKING FORAs the LatAm Supply Chain & Inventory Accounting Manager, you’ll be part of a high-performing team that is driving Nike’s international business growth through the APLA Geography.
While mastering and executing the fundamentals will be critical, your ability to operate in a very dynamic environment and work effectively with a variety of internal stakeholders will also be crucial. You will work within a complex matrix of internal partnerships with cross functional teams in NIKE’s Supply Chain Operations, Demand Supply Management, Finance and Technology.

In this role you will report directly to the LatAm Controller and lead a team of 2 Sr Accountants based in Mexico City, Mexico.
WHAT YOU WILL WORK ONApply APLA Controlling guidance regarding inventory related accounting policiesCapture and deliver measurable value through business partnership, including performing technical research on accounting issues and consulting with business partners on key topicsWork closely with Financial Planning, Demand Supply Management, and Operations teams to understand financial statement impact of Supply Chain related items, inform the quarterly forecasts, and ensure LatAm alignment prior to closeSupport on designing and implementing effective controls to manage financial reporting risk across the LatAm inventory and supply chain processesProvide timely accounting positions, financial insights and operational considerations to enable informed decision makingMonitor standardized, scalable and controlled inventory and supply chain processes and transactions aligned with global policiesPerform the monthly and quarterly financial statement close process according to US GAAPDrive operational excellence through the identification and operationalization of simplification, standardization, and automation opportunities for inventory and supply chain accounting processesEnsure new supply chain strategies / business models are effectively set up and validated, with complete, accurate and well controlled financial reportingBe a subject matter expert on assigned areas, supporting Internal & External Audit and SOX & local statutory compliance workWHO YOU WILL WORK WITHReporting to the LatAm Controller, this role is a critical finance partner for the NIKE LatAm territories (Mexico as owned and operated, and Central & South America as distributor model) and APLA Supply Chain & Inventory Accounting. You will lead and guide the territory inventory accounting team (2 Sr Accountants) and have interactions with various LatAm stakeholders, working closely to the LatAm Financial Planning, Demand Supply Management, Distribution Center Operations and Record to Report Shared Delivery teams.
WHAT YOU BRINGA minimum of 7 years of experience in accounting, finance or related functions & Certified Public Accountant (CPA), or the equivalent, is preferredKnowledge and application of US GAAP around Inventory accounting requiredExperience with ERP accounting and finance systems such as SAP or Oracle is requiredExperience with a Fortune 500/multinational consumer products company is preferredFluent in both English and Spanish preferredExcellent verbal and written communication skills & a proven ability to communicate complex and/or controversial topics and concepts to a wide and diverse audience, including meeting facilitation and presentations with senior leadership teamHigh standards for quality and advanced ability to handle multiple, competing priorities and requestsPeople management experience is desiredExperience working with a managed service provider is a plusAbility to pass a 7-year background check
