About the position

Pfizer’s Strategy & Consulting (S&C) team works with Pfizer senior leadership to lead the development of holistic business strategies across Corporate, Commercial and Research & Development (R&D). As a team that works across the enterprise, we bring strategic connections and make a difference by combining robust consulting approaches with our intimate understanding of Pfizer’s business challenges. We collaborate closely with our internal business partners to develop shared goals and high impact strategies that enable Pfizer’s purpose-driven growth agenda and support our mission to deliver breakthroughs that change patients’ lives.

This role will work on projects across all four verticals within S&C: US Commercial, Global Commercial Platforms, International, and Corporate and R&D.

You will have frequent exposure to a variety of senior leadership (VPs, SVPs, and Presidents) across Pfizer’s business units, helping to build your network for a long and successful career at Pfizer. You will be reporting to a Director Team Lead or Senior Director who is invested in accelerating your growth and development at Pfizer.

Responsibilities

As a Manager in this team, your main accountabilities will be:

Strategic Initiative Leadership: Support key strategic projects, ensuring they are aligned with the company’s long-term goals and delivered on timeQuantitative and Qualitative Analysis: Conduct in-depth research to identify market trends, diagnose internal processes, and evaluate potential risks, providing actionable insights to inform enterprise decisionsStakeholder Collaboration: Engage with senior executives and cross-functional teams to develop and communicate strategic recommendations and drive alignmentTeaming and Mentoring: Maintain a collaborative spirit, build personal awareness and model a continuous growth mindset

What this looks like on a daily basis:

Interact with workstreams leads, BU leaders and/or corporate functions to understand their business needs while proactively supporting themUnder the direction of a project leads, lead workstreams on projects that provide insight and direction for key strategic levers such as market development, customer needs, assessment, competitive advantage, market and/or product prioritization, and opportunities at the BU, asset, or functional levelDevelop and maintain an understanding of market dynamics to identify macro trends and appropriately assess opportunities and guide strategic direction. Provide perspective on the potential impact of external market signals that could impact future business performanceDeep dive into external and internal sources to uncover patterns and extract novel insights to provide data-driven recommendations and effectively communicate complex information to stakeholdersCreate an engaging and productive work environment where team members are encouraged to collaborate and excelParticipate in internal/external networking and thought partnership to broaden functional expertise and maintain awareness of industry trends

Requirements:

Successful candidates for this role typically bring the following skills and experiences:

Minimum BS/BA with 4 years of relevant experience or MBA/MS/MA with 3 years of relevant healthcare experience. Relevant healthcare experience includes experience working in/with commercial, corporate or R&D biopharma functions involving strategy development and/or strategic initiatives (e.g., marketing, commercial development, market access & pricing, business development, R&D strategy / portfolio management, etc.)Demonstrated strong problem solving skills, formulates hypotheses independently. Ability to tee up the right questions, identify alternative scenarios, articulate resulting implications, and develop recommendations for decision-making or actionDemonstrated project leadership potential, accountable for delivering on workstreams in collaboration with cross-functional colleagues with varying backgrounds and skillsets. Flags complex situations to project leadershipDemonstrated ability to influence project stakeholders without direct authorityStrong qualitative and quantitative analytical skills, including technical proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel, and the ability to work with junior team membersUnderstanding of trends and market dynamics in US and Global healthcare and biopharmaceuticals, awareness of competitor strategies, and basic understanding of the drug development and commercialization processPresents effectively to senior stakeholders in group setting; leads with key messages and creative communication techniques while adapting communication style to match audienceDemonstrated high learning agility, “team player” mentality, and positive attitude and poise under pressureBasic understanding of finance and P&L implications of any strategyStrong command of English language, spoken and written.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $102,900.00 to $171,500.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 15.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
