Manager, Retail Catering-Overlook Medical Center-Full Time
Plans, directs and coordinates all activities of the retail outlets, catered events, and event planning. Provides services to visitors as well as hospital team members. Contributes to the development of department policies and procedures to provide administrative direction for menu formation, food preparation, distribution and service, budgeting, purchasing, sanitation standards, safety practices, staffing and staff development. Description Of Work: + Monitors food quality and portion control. Monitor costs, making adjustment to pricing as needed. Maintains cafeteria point of sales devices and updates cost information on the registers’ monthly program. Analyzes and monitors food and supply costs and revenue data on a daily, weekly and monthly basis. + Oversees all catering events, including entry into CaterTrax. Works with Business Office Associate, ensuring correct event billing. + Monitors production needs for the cafeteria, catering and special events and schedules all team members. + Working closely with Executive Chef to develop and implement retail and catering services. + Supervises sanitation of cafeteria, catering, special event areas and related work areas. Ensures compliance with all regulatory requirements. + Oversees effective purchasing and inventory control measures, ensuring cost containment measures are met. + Decorates service areas according to season and meal specials. Coordinates and implements specials and promotions. + Oversees cash drawer balances and maintains sales records. Prepares appropriate reports and maintains all cash handling and auditing standards. + Establishes systems and training programs to provide a safe working environment. Implements, revises and maintains proper work routines for all retail positions. Directs work of supervisors. + Solicits customer feedback and suggestions regarding retail services. Responds to customer complaints to the satisfaction of the customer. + Adopt Celebrations Reward Program, encourages inclusion and engagement with team members. + Assists with recommendations and maintains a proactive human resource function to ensure team member engagement, training and development, and compliance with policies and procedures. + Interview applicants for recruitment, evaluate team members on a regular basis while developing and maintaining team member engagement programs. Responsible for recruitment, onboarding, and mentoring team members. This also includes progressive discipline when needed. + Attends professional meetings and conferences to keep informed of current practices and trends. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, conferences, and professional affiliations + Maintains effective communication and follow up with all managerial and supervisory team members of Morristown Medical Center and Corporate Facilities. + Responsible for all other tasks as assigned. Qualifications: + Associate's degree, preferably in food management or Business. Dietary Managers Certification also considered. + Four years' experience in a managerial or supervisory role within food and nutrition, hospitality, or related field. + Servsafe Manager's certification or equivalent + Ability to lift, pull, push or carry objects up to 50 pounds.
