The actual salary for this position will be determined by a number of factors, including the scope, complexity and location of the role; the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate; and other conditions of employment. As part of our comprehensive compensation and benefits program, employees are also eligible for performance-based cash incentive awards. **Salary Range** $106,300.00 - $175,400.00 **Target Openings** 1 **What Is the Opportunity?** Under limited supervision, provides support for the product rating function including all variables associated with premiums to achieve financial and strategic objectives, both at the state/province and national level. These functions are performed using a business-controlled rating engine and other associated technologies. Works with other business unit teams and team members to support rating quality testing. Applies knowledge of current industry trends and techniques to formulate solutions within the context of assigned project. This position will support Business Insurance or Personal Insurance products. This job may be a technical lead or manage a small team of people. **What Will You Do?** + Analyzes and directs activities for rating quality testing that supportsbusiness requirements, such as rating and other related documentation; provides guidance to less experienced members of the team. + Consults with business and actuarial to develop rating business requirements and rating testing requirements. + Directs design and implementation of External Rating tool (Excel or Python) as needed for larger more complex products as well as consults on the implementation of new products ensuring traceability to requirements. + Performs consistency checks across multiple requirements for same project. + Maintain other business owned tools and technologies that support the rating of products; recommends or reviews enhancements or efficiencies. + Determines testing scope, conducts peer reviews, and conducts unit testing, validates changes in accordance with requirements and adheres to all required team best practices per audit compliance requirements. + Develop test plans and ensure creation of test plan scenarios align with scope of product deliverables. + Develop timelines, identify dependencies and testing estimates to support project deliverables. + Leads triage/investigation and ensures resolution of issues surfaced during testing phases. + May assist in test case execution as needed. + Monitor/track testing progress and communicate/update business partners as needed. + Provide testing direction/guidance to offshore resources. + Meets or exceeds quality, timeliness, and service level agreements. + Identifies and conducts analysis of rating discrepancies and ensures timely resolution and retesting. + Further develops effective relationships and provides consultation to various business partners and teams. + Provides direction on rating testing, triaging and correcting rating issues to less experienced team members. + May manage the effective use of team resources for implementation of ongoing projects, enhancements, initiatives and/or problem resolution. + Acts as subject matter expert for assigned applications, systems or technologies. + Provides input to overall team direction; mentors and provides feedback to others on team. + Act as technology advocate to improve the testing process. + Mentors less experienced team members from a technical perspective. + Other duties as assigned. + Perform other duties as assigned. **What Will Our Ideal Candidate Have?** + Bachelor's degree in a related field. + 6 years of programming/ configuration, development, actuarial, or rating experience. + Advanced working knowledge of relational databases or similar rating engine technology. + Advanced knowledge of property casualty insurance products (Personal or Business Insurance). + Expert Excel skills (VBA, complex nested formula development) + Strong attention to detail and critical thinking + Strong communication and relationship management + Demonstrates an aptitude for learning assigned supported business systems and technology. + Advanced leadership, innovation and initiating skills. + Results driven. + Advanced understanding of rating and pricing concepts. + Customer-focused orientation (agent and consumer). + Advanced oral and written communication skills, with ability to influence others at all levels of the organization. + Advanced organization and time management skills. + Attention to detail. + Advanced critical thinking and analysis skills to assigned work efforts.
