The Trading and Platform Operationsteam acts as the delivery engine of the Platform Success group. This team oversees the execution and outcome of all programmatic campaigns and serves as the critical bridge to product, owning issue resolution and ensuring all platform systems and processes are functioning as intended.

Role: The Manager, Programmatic Activation leads a team of programmatic traders responsible for the setup, optimization, and performance management of programmatic advertising campaigns. This role is both strategic and hands-on, ensuring flawless campaign execution, operational excellence, and the professional development of team members. As a key member of the Trading and Platform Operations group, you will collaborate closely with Account Management, Product, and Engineering to drive measurable results for our clients and continuous improvement for our platform.

Key Responsibilities:

Team Leadership & Development:Lead, coach, and develop a team of programmatic traders, fostering deep expertise in campaign execution, troubleshooting, and optimization. Set clear goals, provide ongoing feedback, and support career growth.

Campaign Setup & Execution:Oversee and participate in the end-to-end technical setup, pacing, and launch of programmatic campaigns. Ensure campaigns align with client objectives and strategic goals.

Real-Time Optimization & Performance Management:Guide the team in actively monitoring campaign performance and making real-time adjustments to bids, budgets, audience segmentation, creative rotation, and DSP settings to maximize outcomes.

Reporting, Analytics & Insights:Ensure the team develops and executes advanced bidding strategies, optimizes budget allocation, and delivers actionable insights to clients and internal stakeholders.

Technical Troubleshooting & Platform Support:Serve as an escalation point for technical issues related to ad serving, data discrepancies, pixel implementation, and delivery errors. Partner with Product Support to resolve platform challenges and improve operational processes.

Collaboration & Innovation:Partner with internal teams to test new features, implement automation strategies, and enhance workflow efficiencies. Stay ahead of industry trends, and champion the adoption of emerging technologies and AI-driven optimizations.

Success in This Role Will Look Like:

Campaign Performance & ROI: Achievement of key performance metrics (CTR/CPC/NRX/Audience Quality)

Efficiency & Accuracy in Execution: On-time and error-free campaign setup, with minimal adjustments required post-launch

Optimization Impact: Demonstrable improvements in campaign efficiency through data-driven optimizations

Operational Excellence: Quick troubleshooting, reduced campaign downtime, and proactive issue resolution

Team Leadership & Development: High levels of team engagement, growth, and retention; fostering a culture of learning, collaboration, and continuous improvement

Qualifications: 

Bachelor’s degree preferred; background in business, marketing, analytics, or a related field preferred

5+ years of experience in programmatic advertising, digital media, or ad tech, with at least 1–2 years in a people management or team lead role

Experience building and managing teams focused on technical programmatic execution and/or support

Deep understanding of the programmatic advertising ecosystem, including DSPs, bidding strategies, data flows, and platform infrastructure—comfortable navigating technical systems without being an engineer

Proven track record managing technical escalations and platform issues, with hands-on experience using tools like JIRA, SQL, APIs, and internal monitoring systems

Excellent communicator with the ability to translate and explain complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for clients and cross-functional teams

Exceptionally organized and proactive, with a strategic mindset and the ability to anticipate needs, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement

Experience collaborating cross-functionally to support platform enhancements and issue resolution

Designed or contributed to processes and training programs that elevated team performance, enhanced efficiency, and enabled sustainable growth

Thrives in fast-paced, dynamic environments with shifting priorities and high expectations for leadership and innovation

The potential base pay range for this role, when annualized, is $66,500.00 - $166,200.00. The actual base pay offered may vary based on a number of factors including job-related qualifications such as knowledge, skills, education, and experience; location; and/or schedule (full or part-time). Dependent on the position offered, incentive plans, bonuses, and/or other forms of compensation may be offered, in addition to a range of health and welfare and/or other benefits.
