The manager, program management role leads the Licensed Coffeehouses PMO, contributing to Starbucks’ success by developing and managing a team of project managers driving effective program and project management. A successful candidate will contribute to development and maintenance of methodologies, standards, tools and training for managing projects based on industry best practices. This person will also manage and sustain the business portfolio and prioritization process to support both base business and cross-functional programs.
As a manager, program management, you will…
• Lead the program prioritization governance and process to ensure resources are allocated across the most critical work
• Own the standards, processes, tools and training to support the development of core competencies in PMO program and project management, based on industry best practices
• Support the implementation of company programs to ensure the success of the Licensed Coffeehouses business
• Identify and communicate key responsibilities and practices to ensure the immediate team of direct reports and cross-functions promote a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results
• Mentor, coach and provide training to project managers to increase their competencies in key knowledge areas of project management, including project integration, scope, time management and management of costs, quality, human resources, communications, risk and procurement
• Work with senior management to provide strategic and tactical advice on program/project planning and execution

• 8 yrs application of industry-based project management methodologies and tools.
• 8 yrs managing complex large-scale business or information technology projects.
• 8 yrs building and mentoring teams.
• 6 yrs mentoring other project managers in program and project management.
• 8 yrs general business experience in large, matrixed organizations.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
