As the manager, Program Management, Compliance & Standards – Licensed Coffeehouses Operations, you will lead a high-performing team of Compliance and Standards Advisors based in Seattle, driving operational excellence and regulatory compliance across our Licensed Coffeehouses in the U.S. and Canada. You’ll shape the future of our compliance strategy, foster strong partnerships, and ensure Starbucks brand standards are upheld consistently across diverse markets.
As a manager, Program Management, Compliance & Standards – Licensed Coffeehouses Operations, you will…
• Lead, coach, and develop a team of Compliance and Standards Advisors, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous learning.
• Design and evolve the compliance and standards strategy, overseeing internal and third-party audit programs.
• Partner cross-functionally with Legal, Operations, Training, Finance, and Communications to align on compliance initiatives and support Licensee success.
We’d love to hear from people with:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Compliance, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 8+ years of experience in compliance, audit, or operational standards, preferably in a franchise or multi-unit environment.
• 3+ years of experience leading teams across regions or markets.
• Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks in both U.S. and Canadian markets.
• Proven ability to lead cross-functional initiatives and influence at all levels.
• Prior experience building or managing multi-unit scorecard/KPI frameworks.
• Track record leading large-scale change management or adoption of new processes, systems, or standards.
• Strong data storytelling skills — converting reporting into actionable coaching and action plans.
• Experience with third-party audit firms and compliance platforms.
• Certifications in compliance or auditing (e.g., CCEP, ISO, Six Sigma).
• Deep knowledge of Starbucks Operational Excellence and Food Safety standards.
• Franchise or licensee background with demonstrated ability to influence without authority.

*If you are working in CA, CO, IL, LA, ME, MA, NE, ND or RI, you will accrue vacation up to a maximum of 120 hours (190 in CA) for roles below director and 200 hours (316 in CA) for roles at director or above. For roles in other states, you will be granted vacation time starting at 120 hours annually for roles below director and 200 hours annually for roles director and above.
The actual base pay offered to the successful candidate will be based on multiple factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, and internal equity. At Starbucks, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at the high end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.
