Job Summary

This remarkable opportunity at Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. allows you to play a vital role in developing and implementing sourcing strategies for our category management team. You will be responsible for performing spot buys, sourcing events, and activities related to multiple categories, ensuring detailed completion and world-class outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

Provide daily oversight and management of key projects that support ongoing business functionsCollaborate with internal collaborators, division procurement partners, and category owners to ensure direct materials projects meet expectationsCoordinate pulse surveys to evaluate business and supplier engagement/happinessDrive project optimization and growthDevise plans for risk reduction, maintaining business operations, and controlling expensesManage supplier performance and relationships, advancing concerns as neededEngage with partners in progressive strategic evolution and establish rapportLead the development and implementation of tools and applications for managing suppliersDeliver mentorship and guidance to junior sourcing generalists concerning category-specific demandsManage a team of sourcing professionals

Proficiencies

Functional & Technical Skills

At least 3 years of people management experienceDevelop plans for risk reduction, business resilience, and cost controlManage supplier performance and relationships, advancing concerns as neededEngage with suppliers in proactive strategic growth and partnership cultivationLead the development and implementation of tools and applications for managing suppliers.Deliver mentorship and guidance to junior sourcing generalists concerning category-specific requirements

Leadership & Behavioral

Experienced in building effective connections, emphasizing the development of successful collaborations with crucial suppliers and internal partnersAbility to identify emerging risk and opportunity areasEffectively communicate and troubleshoot program issues to ensure timely response and actionDesire to mentor and coach junior team membersExcellent communication, influencing, and leadership skills

Experience & Qualification

8+ years’ experience in procurement/sourcingDegree or equivalent experience in business administration, engineering, supply chain management, or a related fieldHigh level of proficiency in the English language (verbal and written)MBA (desired)
