Objectives:
We are seeking a professional like you to join our Procurement Team within Coatings Procurement, EC/P. In this position, you will drive the negotiation strategy within indirect categories, define the negotiation tactics, and be accountable for their execution. You will be part of a global team that continuously builds expertise in state-of-the-art negotiations know-how and translates it into supporting frameworks and IT tools.
Main Tasks:
-As Procurement Negotiation Manager, you will become part of the EC procurement negotiations team as well as part of the global EC/P community with full responsibility for all negotiation activities.
-You will be responsible for successfully negotiating with our suppliers for achieving financial targets of assigned categories in Asia Pacific and ensuring cost competitiveness for BASF Coatings. Furthermore, you will develop the negotiation strategy for the assigned categories within your Cluster.
-With your educational proficiency and your curiosity for new developments, you will continuously drive the enhancement and implementation of our behavioral economics as well as advanced auction concepts for negotiations.
-You will drive the improvement of negotiation practices and tools in the global procurement negotiation community. Lastly, you enhance your know-how and build expertise in assigned fields of procurement through active research and participation in training or conferences. You are agile to step into additional projects or tasks according to the business demand (e.g. Project Procurement Management for CapEx, Digitalization projects or Mentoring approaches)
-Master's degree in economics or chemistry and several years of professional experience in procurement, marketing or sales
-Solid knowledge of the paint or similar industry as well as negotiation expertise
-Analytical and problem-solving skills, decision-making ability as well as flexibility to adapt quickly to changes
-Strong communication skills in English and Chinese
-Self-motivated and outstanding team spirit
