About this opportunity:

The Process Controls Manager at the Cenovus Superior Refinery leads a high‑performing team responsible for optimizing and advancing the refinery’s process control systems. This role drives reliability, efficiency, and safety by developing control strategies, enhancing DCS/APC/SIS/PLC performance, and maintaining world‑class control standards. It also partners closely with cross‑functional teams to support daily operations, lead alarm management improvements, and provide expert guidance for projects, MOC, and HAZOP reviews. Relocation is required to Superior, WI and will be provided.

What you’ll do:

Lead the design, implementation, and optimization of refinery control systems, including DCS, APC, SIS, PLC, and network infrastructure.Provide expert troubleshooting and technical support to Operations, Maintenance, and Reliability to ensure safe and efficient system performance.Drive Alarm Management initiatives, including alarm rationalization and reduction of standing or nuisance alarms.Monitor and enhance Advanced Process Control and Safety Instrumented Systems to improve reliability and process safety.Serve as a process control subject matter expert in Risk Assessments, HAZOPs, and other safety or vulnerability studies.Support capital and operational projects impacting the control system, and develop KPIs to monitor overall system health and performance.

Who you are:

Legally authorized to work in the USBachelor of Science Degree inChemical or Electrical Engineering with a Process Controls emphasis or an Instrument Technician with a Process Controls emphasis.12+ years of relevant experience equivalent to Process Controls & InstrumentationDCS Project Design, Management and CommissioningExperience with DCS, SIS, PLC, APC, Network software and hardware.Process Control optimization, analytical and alarm management
