Are you an analytical leader seeking a new opportunity? Our Group Insurance Cost Optimization and Performance Management (COPM) team is looking for a Manager of Planning and Analysis to support our Product and Distribution divisions. This essential role involves developing multi-year forecasts, driving cost efficiency, and improving performance. Responsibilities include the reporting and analysis of monthly, quarterly, and annual results, along with multi-year forecasts for the business. You will lead the development and implementation of strategies to optimize costs, enhance operational processes, and ensure that our organization meets its financial and performance objectives. Collaborating closely with business leaders, you will support controllership, financial reporting, planning, and consolidation activities for the Group Insurance business.
 

The current employee work arrangement for this position is Hybrid and requires your on-site presence on a reoccurring basis as determined by your business. Your manager will provide additional details relative to the specific number of days you are expected to be on-site.

What you can expect:

Strategically lead the Planning & Analysis (P&A) monthly and quarterly financial close and reporting functions for the Product and Distribution areas, along with consolidated reporting for Group Insurance.

Develop and optimize multi-year budget/forecast for Product and Distribution areas, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and including consolidated reporting for Group Insurance.

Produce and deliver insightful financial metrics, analytics, and trends for senior management, focusing on strategic expense management across categories and functional areas.

Guide the preparation and presentation of the Business Results Review Package to Group Insurance and USB senior management, emphasizing strategic insights and impacts.

Oversee the recording of journal entries (headcounts, accruals, chargebacks) to ensure completeness and accuracy of Group Insurance financial statements  

Strategically partner with Group Insurance leaders to support initiatives across various functions.

Drive cross functional initiatives that may be business-as-usual, transformational, continuous improvement in nature and require automation skills.

Effectively lead and manage both onshore and offshore resources and strategically enhance culture of excellence.


What you’ll need:

Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.

Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, with prior experience in Planning and Business Analysis.

Familiarity with Workday and Anaplan tools.

Strong strategic acumen and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.

Deep understanding of financial principles, accounting standards, and financial regulations.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to interpret financial data and make strategic decisions.

Demonstrated leadership and team management skills, with the ability to develop and mentor staff strategically.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of presenting complex financial information to non-financial stakeholders.

Proficiency with financial software and systems, such as Oracle ledger systems, advanced Excel, and a continuous learning mindset.

Agile, organized, and structure-oriented, with the ability to prioritize and manage competing deliverables.

Ability to anticipate issues, provide strategic recommendations, and communicate key issues effectively.

Sense of urgency to deliver quick turn-around as needed.

It’d be a plus if you had:

CPA or MBA.

Public accounting experience.

Experience creating models within Anaplan.

Experience with Power BI.

Prudential is required by state specific laws to include the salary range for this role when hiring a resident in applicable locations. The salary range for this role is from $118,700.00 to $176,600.00. Specific pricing for the role may vary within the above range based on many factors including geographic location, candidate experience, and skills.
