Manager, People Solutions & HR Compliance
Summary of Position: The People Solutions and HR Compliance Manager will be responsible for the development, implementation and promotion of initiatives that enhance communication and proactive support while providing policy assistance to Human Resource Business Partners and Operations Teams, and leading the day-to-day administration of employee relations matters and employment compliance with company, state and federal employment matters. Principle Duties and Responsibilities: + Investigate highly sensitive HR and Associate Relations issues, including Conducting complainants, witness and subject associate interviews; Analyzing data from various internal systems; Case adjudication; Proposing corrective action based on investigation findings; Production of completed investigation documentation. + Manage and develop a team of People Solutions & HR Compliance Specialists, providing coaching, guidance, and support to drive team performance and professional growth. + Consult and collaborate with Business Partners, peers, and Legal teams on complex associate investigations. + Independently manage assigned casework, bringing investigations to closure rapidly and definitively + Objectively debrief Business Partners and leadership on investigation findings + Work with Business Partners to ensure compliance standards are adhered to regarding employment processes, data management, and applicable employment reporting requirements. + Facilitate communication and collaboration between associates and supervisors and assess and make recommendations pertaining to workplace accommodations administrative related matters, including ADA, Worker’s Compensation and Religious accommodations. + Investigate Department of Labor Wage and Hour claims, analyze data from various internal systems, provide the Company’s formal response to claims, represent the Company at DOL Hearings, negotiate settlements as needed, and objectively debrief Business Partners and leadership on investigation findings. + Investigate reports of workplace hazards, propose corrective action based on investigation findings, and objectively debrief Business Partners and leadership on investigation findings. + Oversee and complete pre-employment adjudication processes following company, state, and federal employment laws. + Investigate and respond to Attorney General Requests and vendor concerns. + Assist in the MVR review process. + Analyze aggregate casework data to identify issue trends and opportunities for proactive issue mitigation. + Partner in analysis and revision of associate programs, policies, and practices to sustain a positive work environment. Minimum Requirement/Qualifications: + 5-7 years of progressive HR experience, with at least 2 years of employee relations experience. + Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration or equivalent field + In-depth understanding of general employment practices and regulatory laws, including FMLA, ADA, Title VII, FLSA + Ability to apply employment practices, regulatory laws and Family Dollar policies to daily situations. + Professional presence with high discretion and confidentiality + Strong organizational and time management skills; able to manage multiple cases simultaneously. + Ability to interact effectively and professionally with all levels of management. + Ability to influence outcomes and advocate persuasively for fair, compliant decisions. + Experience with Microsoft Suite Preferred Qualifications: + Certifications: PHR or SHRM-CP + Retail Experience + Experience leading a team of direct reports Full time 510 Volvo Parkway,Chesapeake,Virginia 23320 Associate Relations Family Dollar
