Manage a hybrid team of 4 (3 onsite, 1 remote), providing coaching, performance management, and structured workload planning
Establish and implement clear workflows, scheduling systems, and operational structure for a growing metrology function
Oversee equipment qualification, mechanical troubleshooting, calibration, and preventative maintenance programs
Develop and track KPIs, uptime metrics, and resource plans aligned with a manufacturing‑style, high‑volume operational environment
Partner cross‑functionally to support audits, onboard new instrumentation, and harmonize metrology best practices
What We Are Looking For:
Bachelor’s degree in a scientific or technical field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
7+ years of experience in a lab, regulated operations environment or technical environment
3+ years of experience in people leadership
Hands-on experience in the mechanical troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of Orbitrap and Triple Quad mass spectrometry platforms
Hands-on experience in servicing equipment from vendors such as Sciex and Thermo, including component-level issue identification
Ability to interpret engineering schematics, service documentation, and instrument specifications
Required Technical Skills:
Hardware Expertise: You must have hands-on experience in the mechanical troubleshooting, repair, and calibration of Mass Spectrometry platforms. Specifically, we require expertise with Orbitrap and Triple Quadrupole systems (vendors include Sciex and Thermo).
Service & Maintenance: Ability to distinguish between user-level errors and mechanical failures, and experience managing vendor service contracts versus internal repairs.

Team Management: Experience managing direct reports (including hybrid/remote staff), conducting performance reviews, and managing daily workload distribution.
Metrics Driven: Experience tracking team performance via KPIs (e.g., Instrument Uptime, Ticket Resolution Time) to ensure operational readiness.
