**Description**
The Estée Lauder Companies seeks a proactive and strategic Manager, Media Relations to support and grow its global corporate reputation through dynamic media relations, proactive storytelling, and issues/crisis response. This role plays a vital part in shaping and amplifying the company’s core narratives across business, brand, innovation, and purpose-driven initiatives.
The ideal candidate is an exceptional communicator with strong editorial instincts, a passion for the beauty and wellness industry, and a talent for identifying media opportunities that align with ELC’s values and business goals. This role will also support key enterprise-level communications efforts, including financial reporting and executive positioning.
**Key Responsibilities**
_Media Relations & Storytelling (50%)_
+ Build and maintain relationships with top-tier beauty, business, and trade media across global markets.
+ Identify and develop compelling storytelling opportunities to showcase ELC’s leadership in beauty innovation, sustainability, DEI, and corporate responsibility.
+ Collaborate with cross-functional partners to prepare press releases, pitches, messaging documents, and media toolkits.
+ Proactively pitch stories and secure media coverage that aligns with strategic corporate communications goals.
+ Monitor the competitive media landscape and trends in the global beauty industry to inform editorial strategy.
+ Support planning and execution of media days, briefings, interviews, and events.
+ Financial & Corporate Communications (25%)
+ Assist with the development of communications around financial milestones, quarterly earnings, and investor relations.
+ Partner with Investor Relations, Legal, and internal teams to ensure message accuracy and alignment.
+ Draft Q&As, executive messaging, and corporate positioning materials.
_Issues & Crisis Management (15%)_
+ Support issues and crisis communications efforts in coordination with Corporate Communications leadership.
+ Monitor risk and reputation-related topics across media, industry, and cultural contexts.
+ Collaborate with Public Affairs and Legal to respond to sensitive matters.
_Operations & Analytics (10%)_
+ Manage media monitoring, measurement, and reporting processes.
+ Support vendor relationships and tools used for media tracking and media database management.
+ Use analytics to inform media strategy and optimize outreach efforts.
**Qualifications**
+ 5–7 years of experience in media relations, communications, or PR, preferably in the beauty, fashion, wellness, or consumer sectors.
+ Deep understanding of the global beauty landscape, including category trends, media outlets, and cultural drivers of consumer interest.
+ Proven ability to craft compelling, media-ready content and secure earned coverage.
+ Experience supporting executive visibility and financial communications.
+ Excellent writing, project management, and organizational skills.
+ Strong editorial judgment and creative instincts for developing storytelling angles.
+ Confident communicator with experience managing cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
+ Skilled in managing media databases and using analytics to track performance.
