MAPP (My Anti-corruption Policy and Procedures) is Pfizer’s compliance platform designed to uphold the company’s commitment to ethical business practices and adherence to global anti-bribery and anti-corruption laws. The MAPP solution provides a centralized digital framework for managing, documenting, and approving interactions with healthcare professionals (HCPs), government officials, and third-party entities across global markets. The solution is a cornerstone of Pfizer’s compliance infrastructure, ensuring that all business activities are conducted with integrity and transparency.
In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing robust, scalable, and secure Appian applications that support critical business processes across the enterprise. This role serves as a technical expert in Appian architecture and development, ensuring solutions align with enterprise standards, performance expectations, and security frameworks. This role partners closely with Product Owners, Enterprise Architecture, Security, and cross‑functional Agile teams to deliver high‑quality applications, integrations, and reusable components.
The position requires deep expertise in Appian platform capabilities—including process models, interfaces, rules, data design, integrations, and modern low‑code patterns—and strong judgment in applying best practices to create maintainable, future‑proof solutions. In addition to hands‑on development, the this role mentors junior team members, influences design decisions, contributes to architectural discussions, and evaluates new Appian features and industry trends to guide continuous improvement

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Partner with product owners, analysts, and stakeholders to gather and refine requirements, convert them into technical scope, user stories, and acceptance criteria
Identify integration touchpoints and dependencies (APIs, data sources), and contribute to effort estimates and sprint planning.
Design end‑to‑end Appian solutions (data model/CDTs & Records, SAIL UX, process models, security model) aligned to best practices and enterprise standards.
Define integration approaches (REST/SOAP, RDBMS, third‑party connectors) and document design patterns and performance considerations.
Implement Appian components: SAIL interfaces, process models, rules/expressions, Records, CDTs, Web APIs, reports, and integrations
Enforce code standards, reuse strategies, and design patterns; mentor peers and conduct peer reviews during sprints
Optimize during development for UX and performance (efficient queries, orchestration, paging, caching, responsive UIs)
Perform unit testing and code reviews; validate security roles and data access; fix defects proactively.
Conduct performance tuning and troubleshooting using logs, performance dashboards, and Appian Health Check prior to release
Package and promote applications across environments with Appian deployment tooling/Admin Console; maintain release notes and rollback plans
Coordinate releases with QA/DevOps and stakeholders; ensure compliance with quality and security gates in Agile increments.
Stabilize and support post‑go‑live: monitor, triage, resolve incidents; perform root‑cause analysis and deliver hotfixes.
Drive continuous improvement: adopt new Appian features, refine reusable components, update standards, and mentor the team.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field
5-10 years of development experience, with at least 2 years of hands-on Appian development experience including SAIL, process models, records, reports, integrations, and interfaces
Strong expertise in Appian plug-ins, Appian Web APIs, data stores, and Appian object management
Experience designing and implementing complex workflow automations and enterprise-scale Appian applications
Proficiency in RESTful API integration, JSON/XML, and working with relational databases (SQL)
Solid understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile delivery methodologies
Ability to translate business requirements into scalable Appian solutions with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills
Excellent communication skills with experience collaborating across cross‑functional teams, architects, and business stakeholders
Strong background in Appian architecture, including performance tuning, scalability, and object governance
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Appian Certified Senior Developer (ACSPD) or Appian Lead certification preferred
Expertise with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and Appian’s deployment automation tools
Familiarity with Process Mining, AI-enabled workflows, and low-code automation strategies
Strong understanding of data modeling, relational databases, and enterprise data architectures
