In NC, we operate three pharmaceutical manufacturing facilities that are responsible for fulfilling different steps in our injectable and oral treatment supply chains. Our newer Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (API) facility in Clayton, NC sits on 825,000 square-feet of state-of-the-art equipment, and houses the Fermentation, Recovery and Purification in the production of ingredients for Novo Nordisk’s innovative oral products. The Position
Manage team designated to provide maintenance & mechanical, & technical support for the API process tracks & operations. Lead & support problem solving & RCA to resolve equipment related issues. Implement & drive a Reliability centered mindset & culture within the department & across the site. Manage continuous improvement projects & efforts with respect equipment, performance, longevity, efficiency, & reliability. Partner with process track engineers to improve & optimize equipment maintenance plans. Establish & maintain good communications & working relationships with all stakeholders. Meet or exceed customer, business & regulatory compliance in accordance with Novo Nordisk & all local, state, & federal requirements.

Reports to Senior Manager, Maintenance Support.
Essential Functions
Provide technical expertise in equipment maintenance for site API processes & production Lead team of maintenance engineers for RCA & problem solving for equipment issues Implement continuous improvement projects & efforts with respect equipment, performance, longevity, efficiency & reliability Coordinate resources to meet production needs for maintenance engineering support, problem solving, project management, & continuous improvement Support preventative, proactive, & corrective maintenance activities to ensure & improve equipment uptime Lead team in establishing & maintaining engineering & technical interfaces with production & maintenance depts Manage the development & improvement of equipment /system maintenance plans Collaborate with other NN sites & facilities to share best practices with respect to equipment operation, troubleshooting & problem solving Perform team & individual development activities with focus on performance & developmental planning & feedback Drive adherence to all site, company, & regulatory environmental management & safety policies within area of responsibility Manage & drive budget adherence Other accountabilities, as assigned
Physical Requirements
Moves equipment &/or supplies weighing up to 33 pounds within the facility using various body positions. Routinely operates & inspects manufacturing equipment using hands. Ability to be on feet for up to a 12-hour shift. May require corrected vision to 20/25 based on role. May require color vision based on role. Occasionally ascends/descends a ladder. May be required to work at elevated heights. Occasionally works around odorous &/or hazardous materials. May be required to wear latex gloves. Occasionally performs critical job functions in extremely cold work environments. Occasionally positions oneself within confined spaces for inspection, repair & maintenance of equipment. Ability to work in loud noise environments with hearing protection. Occasionally works in outdoor weather conditions. Able to pass a driving exam for powered industrial trucks. Does not require a valid drivers license.
Development Of People
Supervisory. Ensure that reporting personnel have individual development plans (IDP), with annual goals and measurements that are consistent with the priorities of the business, and that interim reviews are held so that their work is focused on those priorities, and they understand their level of accountability for results and the measurement process. Ensure that the IDP forms include completed learning and aspiration plans and are in place for all reporting personnel to enable the achievement of goals and capability to assume increased levels of responsibility. Manage the application and communication of all Novo Nordisk policies, procedures, and Novo Nordisk Way.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in mechanical, electrical, or chemical engineering, or an equivalent combination of education & experience required Minimum of seven (7) years of maintenance engineering & management experience in support of manufacturing facilities & operations required Knowledge & experience in the operations, maintenance & design of cGMP utilities, as well as working in a regulated environment (FDA, cGMP, OSHA, NRC, other) required Management/Leadership experience in related discipline preferred Process knowledgeable in manufacturing, utilities operations, & maintenance to include: chilled water, plant steam, compressed air, wastewater, agitation & mixing, automation/control systems required Equipment knowledgeable in process & utilities equipment & maintenance to include: pumps (centrifugal, PD, rotary lobe, gear), mixers, agitators, automated valves, pressure & atmospheric vessels, agitators, mixers, heat exchangers required Ability to read/review design drawings (CAD) with an understanding of P&ID, HVAC & Electrical systems preferred Thorough understanding of technical documents such as URS, SAT, FAT & Validation Protocols preferred Thorough understanding of standard operating procedures with attention to high-level concepts preferred Computer literacy with associated systems preferred Organization/Planning: Proven expertise in mentoring/development, planning/organizing, managing execution & revising the work plan for complex problems solved by cross functional teams preferred
