Job Description

The Risk and Identity Solutions (RaIS) Sales Specialist Manager role is part of the broader Issuer Value Added Services Specialized Sales function, with an initial focus on the sale of services related to risk management and fraud mitigation in the Andean region, with the possibility of expanding over time to other products, regions, and services. Internally, the role requires collaboration with a wide range of cross-functional teams, including, but not limited to, Generalist Sales, Sales Operations, Product, Strategy, Customer Service, Digital Partners, and Marketing teams.

 

Key Responsibilities

Demonstrate a deep knowledge of the payment ecosystem, specifically issuer (banks, processors, fintech) needs, emerging trends, open banking, real-time payments, regulatory changes, and the specific operational challenges faced by ecosystem participants.

A high understanding of risk management processes and solutions in payments, authentication, authorization, risk scoring models and emerging threats in our ecosystem.

Develop/demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of Visa’s solutions and their application for clients.

Actively seek, qualify, negotiate, and close opportunities within the assigned territory.

Identify high-potential clients to target and build relationships with key decision makers within these organizations.

Collaborate with the Generalist Sales team to prepare proposals, presentations, and other sales materials that highlight the technical capabilities and advantages of Visa’s solutions to address client needs.

Ensure high levels of satisfaction among clients and prospects through proactive follow-up with relevant information and regular contact. Coordinate if necessary, with other Visa areas to communicate client’s feedback, justify enhancements or prioritize requirements regarding client’s needs.

Develop and execute issuer-oriented sales strategies that align with Visa’s purpose: to empower everyone, everywhere, by being the best way to pay and be paid.

Prepare business cases to support client sales, ROI, and other analyses necessary for the sale.

Control and manage pipeline, budget, and planning.

 

Essential Functions

Responsible for driving and achieving RaIS booking and revenue lines, potentially including other Value-Added Services on the issuer side over time, through collaboration and partnership with Executives and Account Managers via new client acquisition or cross-selling to existing clients.

Acquisition of new clients and retention/growth of existing clients in partnership with the market product teams.

Understand the complex challenges/problems of clients and use Visa technology to drive solutions with such technology.

Be a leader and example with Visa’s value-based sales methodology, post-sales commercialization, mutual success planning with clients, and across Visa to secure outcomes for the client and revenue realization for Visa.

Prepare pipeline analysis, proposals, business cases, presentations, and other sales materials that highlight the technical capabilities and advantages of our solutions.

Interact with cross-functional internal teams, including Product Management, Product Development, Customer Support, and Product Marketing to bring market insights and feedback for the design of new solutions.

Identify, qualify, and quantify specific market opportunities in close cooperation with local relationship management and product teams.

Industry Awareness: Maintain deep awareness of evolving fraud vectors, regulatory frameworks (e.g., PSD2, EMV3DS, AML), and industry trends affecting digital payments and financial crime.

Support requests made by your direct supervisor or colleagues.

This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications
• 5+ years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor’s Degree or at least 3 years of work experience with an Advanced degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) in Business Administration, Economics, Management, Industrial/Business Engineering
Preferred Qualifications
• Deep knowledge and extensive experience in financial services and risk management in payments, fraud, transaction processing and regulatory requirements.
• Proven track record in field sales or related roles.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex sales cycles and negotiate major deals with strategic clients.
• Strong communication, interpersonal, and collaboration skills to influence decisions and change attitudes at an international executive level.
• Solid understanding of the payments ecosystem, including key players, competition, and trends.
• CRM software proficiency.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaborate within a team.
• Strong technical skills and the ability to understand complex technological solutions and business matters.
• Natural ability to understand and explain complex concepts clearly and concisely.
• Confidence in public speaking, with the capacity to present, interact, and connect with both executive personnel and engineering professionals.
• Excellent analytical, case preparation, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrate excellent analytical and quantitative ability to derive data insights.
• Multicultural sensitivity and interpersonal relationship management skills, including the ability to work effectively with remote teams in all LAC (ex. Peru, Ecuador, Miami).
• Ability to generate organizational momentum through creative and innovative solutions to problems and opportunities.
• Advanced proficiency in Office and Power BI/Tableau.
• 100% fluency in English, both written and spoken.
