Your Mission:

The Research and Development Manager, supporting international is responsible for food photography and filming of all international test and limited time offer products.  This role will manager all new product tests and new product development presentations.  The incumbent will be responsible for supporting product ideation by researching trends through the globe. This position operates with autonomy and approval authority and is responsible for upholding the company standards. 

How You’ll Make an Impact:

Manage all photo and commercial shoots.  Liaise with marketing teams to coordinate products, equipment, and smallwares needed to achieve goals of shoot, on-site product preparation support with food stylists.

Support ideation and develop new products/recipes on own and in coordination with supplier ideations and from concept creation through prototype/recipe development and consumer validation to support the menu pipeline for all international markets.

Manage product presentations as needed for all new product development sessions which includes preparing product, presentation materials and presenting.

Researching and keeping up to date with product details on our international competition and food trends. Communicate findings to international leadership team.

Maintains core and optional menus for all international market, in addition to, recipe files, while ideation and development is in progress.

Manages new product deployment for test markets and limited time offers, which includes development of operational procedures, training documents, and videos, and collaboration with training to develop procedures, documents, and videos.  Supports in-market training.

Supports new product commercialization for test markets and limited-time-offers, which includes product development, new packaging development, new smallware development, and launching of timelines.

Create and complete all new specifications needed for test products. Coordinate with quality assurance, procurement, and distributors on supplier and ingredient set-up.

Research and maintain up-to-date ingredient and manufacturing awareness to support new product development and food trends internationally, including but not limited to, supplier plant and innovation center visits, participation in trade shows and webinars.

Work in company restaurants throughout our international markets to keep operations knowledge accurate and updated.

Supports new market menu development to include researching pizza competitors and western quick service restaurant brands, recipe builds, taking product photos and writing product descriptions for consumer research.

Provide leadership to the international research and development team, that includes selection, coaching, establishing goals and performance management. Mentor, guide, and inspire team to ensure growth and quality of work.

Aggressively seek methods to educate and improve knowledge of upcoming food trends.

Sensory abilities for product evaluations.

Who You Are:

Bachelor’s Degree in culinary or related discipline or equivalent experience.

Minimum of five (5) years culinary product development experience in quick service industry

Create and develop recipes that can be manufactured, replicated, and scaled.

Natural adaptability to work with food and operate food processing equipment in restaurant and test kitchen environments.

Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills and ability to work cross-functionally with individuals and teams.

Demonstrated ability to prioritize and manage multiple, complex projects and initiatives simultaneously with a results-oriented approach.

Computer proficiency (Microsoft Office, database, Internet, and documentation software required.

Ability to life, push, or pull up to forty (40) pounds of weight to transport food materials (bulk ingredients) and/or equipment.

Ability to travel 20 – 40% of the time and adhere to corporate travel policies.

Ability to travel throughout the region as well as ability to secure and maintain necessary credit and passport/visa/government documentation required to do so.

Master’s degree in Food Science, Culinary or related discipline preferred.

International industry experience preferred.

Specific knowledge in pizza industry preferred.

Where You’ll Work:

Position requires working in both an office and test kitchen environment.   

Position requires field work in Little Caesar stores, supplier kitchens, research facilities, and non-traditional venues, throughout international markets.

This position will require travels by airplane and/or automobile/train to and within various developed and developing international markets.
