Description Amazon is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to lead the Competitive Insights and Cost Optimization charters. This role combines strategic financial analysis, competitive intelligence, and cost management to drive data-driven decision-making and operational efficiency across the organization. As a Finance Manager at Amazon, you will partner with senior leadership to deliver actionable insights through benchmarking studies, identify cost optimization opportunities, and influence strategic business decisions. Key Responsibilities **Financial Benchmarking & Competitive Intelligence** - Lead comprehensive benchmarking studies across various business areas to understand Amazon's competitive positioning - Analyze industry trends, competitor performance, and market dynamics to provide strategic insights - Develop frameworks and methodologies for ongoing competitive insights and identify further areas for analysis - Partner with business leaders to identify key metrics and performance indicators for benchmarking - Present findings and recommendations to senior leadership to inform strategic planning **Cost Optimization & Efficiency** - Drive cost reduction and cost avoidance initiatives across assigned business areas - Develop and implement cost management frameworks and monitoring systems - Partner with cross-functional teams to design and execute cost-saving initiatives - Track and report on cost optimization progress against plans. Basic Qualifications - 5+ years of tax, finance or a related analytical field experience - 6+ years of applying key financial performance indicators (KPIs) to analyses experience - 6+ years of building financial and operational reports/data sets that inform business decision-making experience - 6+ years of creating process improvements with automation and analysis experience - CA or MBA with 5+ years of finance experience Preferred Qualifications - 6+ years of identifying incomplete or inaccurate data, identifying the root cause and creating/implementing an escalation plan experience - 6+ years of solving complex business challenges by delivering accurate and timely financial models, analysis, and recommendations that have a proven impact on business (e.g., financial savings, operational improvements, or customer benefits) experience - MBA, or CPA - Knowledge of SQL/ETL - Experience working with large-scale data mining and reporting tools (examples: SQL, MS Access, Essbase, Cognos) and other financial systems (examples: Oracle, SAP, Lawson, JD Edwards) - Experience delivering forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis, and data interpretation of results Our inclusive culture empowers Amazonians to deliver the best results for our customers.
