DescriptionThe Manager of Infrastructure (Server Run Team) is responsible for leading a team of technical engineers in supporting a large enterprise environment. This role involves developing and implementing short- and long-term goals to meet organizational objectives, recruiting and retaining staff, establishing and enforcing policies and procedures, and monitoring the performance of server systems to ensure they are secure, highly available, and performant. The Manager collaborates with IT leadership and cross-functional teams to drive infrastructure initiatives that support business growth and operational efficiency.
The Infrastructure Manager for the Run team oversees daily operations and support for core systems, including VMware, Azure, and on-prem infrastructure. This role leads Tier 2 support, manages break/fix activities, and ensures stability, performance, and incident response across the server environment. This team handles additional run support areas including OS support, server patching, Active Directory, Cascade, and SearchBlox.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Team Leadership & Development:
Manage and mentor a team of technical engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and professional growthRecruit, retain, and develop staff to maintain a high-performing infrastructure teamEstablish performance expectations and conduct regular evaluations to ensure continuous improvementInfrastructure Planning & Implementation:
Develop and implement short and long-term infrastructure goals aligned with organizational objectivesLead infrastructure projects and initiatives to enhance system capabilities and operational efficiencyEnsure high availability, security, and scalability of enterprise infrastructure systemsPolicies, Procedures, & Performance Monitoring:
Establish and enforce policies, procedures, and key performance indicators (KPIs) for infrastructure operationsMonitor the operations and performance of server systems to ensure optimal performance and securityImplement best practices to maintain a highly reliable, mission-critical, geographically dispersed production environmentTechnical Issue Resolution & Support:
Coordinate and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize downtime and service disruptionsCollaborate with internal teams and external vendors to troubleshoot and implement solutions effectivelyProvide strategic input on technology investments and enhancementsCollaboration & Strategic Initiatives:
Work closely with IT leadership to align infrastructure strategies with business needsDrive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance infrastructure reliability and efficiencyEnsure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standardsMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related fieldExperience: Seven years of experience, including designing and implementing highly complex systems on multiple platformsTechnical Expertise: Experience managing a highly reliable, mission-critical, geographically dispersed production environmentStrong understanding of enterprise infrastructure, networking, and security best practicesKnowledge of cloud-based and on-premises infrastructure solutionsExperience with automation, configuration management, and system monitoring toolsSkills: Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilitiesAbility to work independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environmentStrong analytical and decision-making skillsPreferred Qualifications:
