About the Job PetSmart is seeking an Income Tax Manager, to work directly with the Income Tax Director to manage the PwC insourced tax services arrangement for PetSmart for income tax provision, compliance, audit defense, and special projects. This is a critical position in the tax department at a multinational company with a variety of complex tax matters. Responsibilities: Work directly with the Income Tax Director to manage the PwC insourced tax services arrangement for PetSmart for income tax provision, compliance, audit defense, and special projects. Responsibilities include: Manage the preparation and/or review of quarter-end and year-end tax accounting provisions under ASC740, including detail review of complex issues and documenting positions. Lead the preparation and or/review of federal, state and local corporate tax returns including estimated tax payments, extensions and cash tax forecasting. Manage the Tax Depreciation process including reconciliations. Assist in gathering information to support tax audits, including responding to IDRs. Keep current on tax law changes, interpretations that may have impact or implications to the Company. Ensure that quarterly and annual procedures comply with required SOX compliance and internal audit objectives. Review of transfer pricing calculations and gather/review information for annual reporting. Assist in the development and implementation of tax planning strategies that support PetSmart’s broader business goals and financial objectives. Develop and build relationships with Corporate Accounting and other teams at PetSmart to create an awareness of tax reporting needs create a collaborative environment. Mentor and assist with the development of internal tax staff. Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in accounting. Master’s degree in accounting or tax preferred. Minimum of 5 years of corporate tax experience including ASC 740. CPA and Big 4 experience preferred. High degree of technical proficiency and a broad base of business income tax knowledge. Detail oriented with proven organizational skills for multi-tasking. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with both tax and non-tax professionals. Demonstrate the ability to embrace and thrive in change and is willing to performing a variety of tasks as needed. Desired requirements: CPA license Knowledge of SAP and OneSource is a plus.
