Role Summary We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Inbound Operations Second Shift Manager to lead a team of analysts responsible for executing inbound shipments. This leader will play a critical role in ensuring on-time delivery of materials, fostering strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, and driving process excellence across the supply chain. The ideal candidate is a natural collaborator, clear communicator, and proactive problem-solver who models Rivian’s core values and leads by example. Responsibilities Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of inbound operations analysts responsible for coordinating, tracking and executing inbound shipments. Oversee daily inbound logistics operations to ensure materials arrive on time, in full, and in alignment with production requirements. Act as the primary point of contact during second shift operations for cross-functional teams, including Manufacturing, Material Planning, Supplier Relations, Transportation, and Warehousing. Identify, escalate, and resolve any shipment risks or exceptions proactively through collaboration and data-driven decision-making. Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance shipment execution, visibility, and efficiency across the inbound supply chain. Monitor performance metrics (KPIs) and provide regular reporting and feedback to team members and leadership. Monitors and manages the operation and KPI’s of managed expedite provider. Cost focused; data driven decision maker. Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and innovation within the operations team. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Logistics, or a related field. 5+ years of experience in inbound logistics, supply chain, or operations. Global experience in all modes of transportation (Parcel, FTL, LTL, FCL, LCL, Air, Intermodal) Proven track record of leading teams, managing priorities, and executing complex logistics operations in a dynamic environment. Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams. Excellent organizational and analytical abilities with attention to detail. Familiarity with ERP and logistics management systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, TMS). Ability to work onsite during the second shift (01:00 pm – 10:00 pm M-F) and respond to time-sensitive operational needs. Pay Disclosure Salary Range/Hourly Rate for Illinois Based Applicants: $102,300 - $127,900 (actual compensation will be determined based on experience, location, and other factors permitted by law).
