Albertsons-Safeway's Northern California Division has an opening for a Manager, Human Resources Business Partner Operations.
The Manager, Human Resources Business Partner Operations is responsible for leading the HR Operations team for the Northern California division. This includes defining and driving core HR programs and procedures, assembling comprehensive employment data, resolving employees’ specific HR questions as they arise and supporting managers in growing their team members. The Manager, Human Resources Business Partner Operations is also the primary business partner to corporate backstage leaders as well as the pharmacy team. They are a leader in change management and influence their team and business partners to drive results and achieve strategic goals.
Responsibilities
Lead the Northern California HR Operations team dedicated to supporting associates and managers, inclusive of responding to general process and policy questions. Manages and leads the work of 3-4 hourly Human Resources Coordinators that support the HR Operations responsibilities Ensures the team provides quality, consistent and efficient customer service and identifies best practices by establishing appropriate procedures and standards. Continuously reviews and evaluates internal programs, systems and procedures for effectiveness and efficiency with a goal of moving the Division towards a self-service model. Acts as the liaison between Safeway’s (Albertson’s Companies) centers of excellence and Division to continually improve and enhance HR systems and processes. Develops, measures and reports on key performance indicators within the HR team. Successfully implement and support programs and initiatives, including all annual processes (benefits, compensation, performance management, education, etc.) as well as new training and compliance programs, associate engagement and development initiatives and other projects/programs as communicated from VP and/or Director of Human Resources or corporate departments to support both associates and leaders. Manage and oversee all division compliance programs including those related to the enforcement of state, federal or state laws and regulations, wage and hour compliance, Unemployment claims, Company policies and company codes of conduct as it relates to people management. Act as a HR Business Partner resource to corporate backstage and pharmacy business partners in the coaching, counseling and support of all matters related to associate performance, career development and bench strength, education (training), balanced workforce (diversity), talent movement decisions, discipline and conflict resolution. Engage in the “interactive process” with disabled associates to assess whether a reasonable accommodation can be provided to assist individuals to perform the essential duties of their job. Conducts prompt and thorough investigations in regard to Albertson’s Policy on Harassment, Code of Business Conduct and Company policies.Salary range is $92,000 to $120,000 annually. Starting salary will vary based on criteria such as location, experience, and qualifications. There may be flexibility for exceptional candidates.
Qualifications
Education Level: Bachelor’s Degree, PHR or SPHR certification desired, or equivalent work experience.

Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Exceptional conflict resolution and negotiation skills. Strong change management and decision-making skills and the ability to collaborate in a strategic environment. Ability to lead, motivate, innovate and display a high level of integrity and courage. Knowledge of state and federal employment regulations and laws. Past customer service experience and excellent customer service skills. Strong track record of leading HR functions. Proficiency in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Proficiency in HRIS systems like Peoplesoft, ADP, Recruitment Manager, Taleo.Travel Requirements: Minimal travel required.

Work may be performed in a temperature-controlled environment. Sit, stand or walk for extended periods of time. May spend long periods of time at desk or computer terminal. May use calculators, keyboards, telephone, and other office equipment in the course of normal workday. Stooping, bending, twisting, and reaching may be required in completion of job duties.
