Responsible for identifying, cultivating and maintaining relationships with volunteers, local businesses and developing opportunities for engagement with community leaders in event programs to achieve event fundraising goals. Reports to and assists the Sr. Director, Community Engagement in all stages of Foundation fundraising event programs on behalf of the Corewell Health Foundation.Essential FunctionsPrimary function is to manage the fundraising events team identifying, cultivating and maintaining relationships with key business and community leaders and effectively directing various special events to achieve the greatest return on investment while projecting a positive image for Corewell Health.Solicits and manages sponsorship opportunities from community corporations. (Estimate 20 sponsors per month.) Creates sponsorship proposals, works with Fundraising Event Managers to help sell event sponsorships to new community contacts. Communicates with team in tracking participation at events providing updated reports as well as determining/reviewing event prospect mailing lists and collateral materials. Oversees total annual event income managed individually by team members assigned to events.Serves as a strategic manager to engage participation from hospital administration / physician administration for Foundation directed events.Effectively manages fundraising event committees to focus volunteers on fundraising, ticket sales, and corporate sponsorship solicitation through their networks.Responsible for directing staff on consistent event production standards, ensuring all fundraising targets are met or exceeded, and focusing team on spending 75% of time fundraising.Develops and implements an annual coordinated special event and corporate sponsorship plan for each event, which includes setting individual fundraising goal and/or other objectives. Participates with the Sr. Director, Community Engagement/President and various Directors in developing annual Foundation events calendar. Works with other team members that oversee event committee participation/planning and all-process standardization.Works effectively with volunteers, Foundation staff, Donors, event-related vendors and others, as needed, to accomplish successful events.Fosters positive relationships and creates positive working environment with hospital divisions, Foundation team, and special events team. Manages events team, including interviewing, hiring, training, evaluating, assigning projects and some special projects.Excellent oral presentation, writing skills, editing / proofing skills, graphic design / collateral management, PowerPoint design.Strong event and video production-management skills preferred, demonstrates audio visual skills-preparation for event presentations including strong technical production background (lighting / sound / staging / entertainment), and other related duties as assigned.Primary function is to solicit corporate sponsorship support.Qualifications
Required
Bachelor's DegreeA minimum of ten years of experience in fundraising or related business with a strong, documented record of success in special events management, writing, and video production.Evidence of working successfully with community leaders, boards, volunteers and event committees.Preferred
