ABOUT THE ROLE:
This job contributes to Skechers’ success by producing outstanding store fixture designs and standards that upholds Skechers Customer Experience; meeting cost, schedule and operational requirements by working with a cross functional team. Models and acts in accordance with Skechers guiding principles.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Leadership - Setting goals for the work group, developing Global design standards, developing organizational capability, and modeling how we work together:
Executes Design strategy in design of fixtures, furniture and equipment for Skechers stores. Provides clear, effective and timely communication of design direction and changes to consultants and vendors. Identifies exceptions and variations, proposes design solutions and resolves issues with Vice President of Store Design.
Identifies and communicates key responsibilities and practices to ensure the department team and promotes a successful attitude, confidence in leadership, and teamwork to achieve business results.
Supports the implementation of company programs to ensure the success of the company.
Planning and Execution - Developing strategic fixture designs and deployment plans for the work group, managing execution, and measuring results:
Contributes to Store Development Business Goals with Construction & Real Estate by achieving target deliverables for fixtures. Designs store fixtures within parameters of individual store budgets and market requirements with alignment from Construction and Real Estate based on direction from Vice President of Store Design.
Plans and manages FF&E processes and practices to ensure that programs are aligned with company business goals and objectives.
Prepares, communicates and educates vendors, and team on changes in policies and practices within the organization.
Sets schedules with alignment from Construction and Real Estate. Communicates dates to team and meets all established deadlines.
Manages the comprehensive fixtures, furniture and equipment needs for store development and coordinates with the department managers on regional needs and expectations.
Business Requirements - Providing functional expertise and executing functional responsibilities:
Ensures alignment across cross functional teams and regional and market teams on individual store fixture designs. Participates in schematic reviews with Operations and Design Reviews with Global Design. Participates in market tours to gain cross functional alignment in market priorities.
Manages the fixture development process by assessing the scope of the project through review of store designs plans and designs. Responsible for the development of all schematic and final fixture drawings and all store concepts in a market.
Manages the production of shop drawings by vendors. Ensures all intended design elements meet the code requirements for the intended market. Checks drawings for design intent. Conducts vendor and site visits as needed.
Establish and Maintain an electronic filing system for the orderly recordation all the fixture concepts and train the team on its organization.
Establish and Maintain a sample and material library including samples for all approved store concepts for color and material boards.
Partner Development & Team Building - Providing team members with coaching, feedback, and development support for all FFE needs:
Challenges and inspires team members to participate in FFE development.
Conducts and ensures the completion of performance reviews if applicable.
Ensures continued team member development and development of co- direct reports. Creates development plans. Provides coaching and conflict resolution.
Ensures team members adhere to legal and operational compliances requirements.
Oversees training and development of team members directly and indirectly managed and makes effective staffing decisions.
Provides coaching direction and leadership support to team members in order to achieve partner, business and customer results.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Current knowledge of industry trends in retail store fixture design
Current working knowledge of compliance issues
Demonstrated 3D visualization ability and working knowledge of color and design principles
Ability to balance design, with operational needs and budget objectives resulting in exceptional store environment
Ability to execute multiple designs under tight deadlines
Skilled in the visual, written and verbal communication issues
Ability to translate stated design principles / objectives into unique and varied store fixture packages.
Knowledge of architectural details and specifications for construction document production
REQUIREMENTS:
Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Architecture, Interior Design or related field.
Retail design or development organization including management of construction documents (3 years)
Management in a national company (3 years)
Managing outside architectural, other design consultants and vendors.
The pay range for this role is $95,000-$130,000/yr USD.
