Capital One is seeking a culture-led, results-driven, and strategic Manager of Partnerships Finance. This is an exciting time for Capital One Card Partnerships, as we are looking to expand our business aggressively in the partner credit card segment, not only through organic growth in existing programs, but also through acquisitions of new card partners. 

The role will be the work lead for a team of vertical financial analysts supporting the financials of individual Partnerships portfolios. Given the unique nature of the Partnerships business, this position will have significant exposure to both internal business partners and external client teams to help drive partner-specific financial insights.

This position will serve as the work lead providing oversight for the actuals and outlook, presenting monthly financial results to internal and external leadership, and managing quarterly or annual strategic exercises related to the Partnerships business. The finance team also plays a key role in our external partner payments, managing the review and approval of monthly compensation prior to final payment.

Key responsibilities include: 

Develop a deep understanding of the components of the Card Partnerships P&L to help drive insights and analytics on the financial performance of the Partnerships business

Accurately analyze & explain key drivers and monthly variances, suggest actions to the business, and manage the regular reporting process for multiple Partnership segments

Generate ongoing analytical insights into overall financial performance 

Develop and deliver senior management presentations

Partner with internal and external business leaders to provide strategic finance and accounting perspective on business initiatives

Develop contractual knowledge over specific partnership agreements to adequately provide oversight to the monthly partner compensation process

Create well-managed sustainable processes and continuously challenge what’s possible

Independently manage, prioritize, and delegate tasks

Serve as the work lead for 2-3 analysts; coaching and mentoring associates with a goal of developing and retaining talent 

The ideal candidate will provide strong financial leadership as we’re evaluating prospective partnership deals.  The role requires problem solving, strategic thinking, and influencing skills in order to effectively:

Articulate outcomes of analysis and relevant insights

Able to critically evaluate option sets and present recommendations

Effective under both open-ended and tight timelines

Partner with leadership and business teams to assess the financial implications of ongoing efforts to grow the organization

Develop presentations to communicate business and analysis results to senior leadership audiences

Comfortable working in white space and the ability to get work done through others 

General Responsibilities:

Financial analysis & reporting: Accurately analyze & explain balance sheet and income statement implications of decisions and contract structures, suggest actions to the business, and manage financial elements of a deal process wing-to-wing

Executive business presentations: Assist in development of presentations to communicate analysis results to senior audiences; clearly articulate outcomes of analysis to leadership teams

Ad-hoc requests and special projects

Independently manage, prioritize, and delegate tasks

Coordinate across Capital One’s corporate Global Finance teams in support of deal valuations and decisioning

Perform ad-hoc financial analysis to investigate and assess any industry related topics and strategic options.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree or military experience

At least 4 years’ of experience in financial analysis

At least 4 years’ experience with financial modeling

At least 1 year of experience managing a Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) function

At least 1 year of people management experience

Preferred Qualifications:

Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) or Master’s Degree in Finance

Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) license or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license

5+ years of financial planning and analysis experience

2+ year of people management experience managing both direct and indirect reports

The minimum and maximum full-time annual salaries for this role are listed below, by location. Please note that this salary information is solely for candidates hired to perform work within one of these locations, and refers to the amount Capital One is willing to pay at the time of this posting. Salaries for part-time roles will be prorated based upon the agreed upon number of hours to be regularly worked.

Chicago, IL: $132,800 - $151,600 for Manager, Financial Analysis


 

McLean, VA: $146,100 - $166,700 for Manager, Financial Analysis


 

New York, NY: $159,400 - $181,900 for Manager, Financial Analysis

Candidates hired to work in other locations will be subject to the pay range associated with that location, and the actual annualized salary amount offered to any candidate at the time of hire will be reflected solely in the candidate’s offer letter.

This role is also eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI). Incentives could be discretionary or non discretionary depending on the plan.
