Job Description
The Manager, Finance will be an integral member of BAM’s Credit Group Finance Team, reporting directly to the VP, Finance. Based at our head office in Downtown Toronto, this pivotal role offers a strong foundation and significant exposure within a leading global asset management firm. The successful candidate will oversee financial planning and forecasting, contribute to the quarterly close process, conduct portfolio analytics, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to identify and implement key improvement initiatives. Additionally, the Manager, Finance will prepare performance reports to inform decision-making and support the continued growth of Brookfield’s Private Credit business.
Responsibilities:
The responsibilities for this position would include, among other things:
Financial Planning & Analysis
Manage the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning process for Brookfield Private Credit
Develop and maintain robust financial models for scenario planning
Prepare executive-level reporting packages, including management dashboards, quarterly presentations and board materials
Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and identify trends, risks, and opportunities
Continuously improve processes, reporting tools, and automation to enhance efficiency and insight
Financial Reporting and Controllership
Work directly with Mumbai Controllership team to execute the financial close cycles for the Brookfield Private Credit and identify opportunities to implement practical changes to drive improvements and efficiencies
Assist with the management of the consolidation and summarized financial results process on a quarterly and annual basis for internal management reporting and regulatory requirements
Collaborate regularly with and respond to the business and finance inquiries from other Brookfield business groups and departments
Support internal and external reporting audits
Continuously look for efficiency in our processes, tools and reports and make suggestions to implement these into our framework
Lead special projects as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements:
Four to six (4-6) years of progressive work experience in an accounting or auditing function
Minimum 2 years industry experience
A recognized professional accounting designation (CPA)
Strong financial systems experience, including advanced Excel skills
Leadership and interpersonal skills, and the willingness to always support the team
Demonstrates organizational skills and the ability to work in dynamic, complex, and fast-paced environments, with adaptability to manage changing priorities and deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Self-motivated and pro-active, with respect to both managing workload and professional development
Knowledge of Microsoft Dynamics would be an asset
