Job Responsibilities:

Mission of the Position:

The mission of this position is to effectively lead, guide and improve the reporting process for purchasing.  The objective involves a wide range of responsibilities, including budget, forecast, KPIs, data analysis, and automation.   This position plays a key role in aligning purchasing activities with corporate standards and strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities:

Process improvements and automation for purchasing finance area (example; cost savings and spend)Work with IT to implement new tools for purchasing finance areaStandardize cost savings process for all plants (tracking and reporting templates/tools)Provide financial planning and analysis for cost savings and spendMonitor actual results of financial data against forecast and budgetResponsible for purchasing cost savings and spend processes (forecast and budget)In charge of consolidating and reporting Magna Powertrain monthly cost savings and spend numbers to Magna InternationalMonthly follow ups with plants on missing data and data accuracyResponsible for accurate & timely reporting (yearly, quarterly, monthly)Responsible for supplier risk management process and approvals (analysis, assessments, mitigation & reporting)Responsible to report claims (inflation impact) for forecast and budgetCalculate annual global purchasing allocationsLead and direct preparation of Global Purchasing expense budgetPerform additional duties and responsibilities as assignedOther ad hoc analysis as assignedFollow Magna’s Code of Conduct and Ethics and related compliance policies.

Requirements and Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in finance or related field required; Masters’ Degree is a plusMinimum of 5 years’ experience in the auto industry; experience in powertrain preferredExperience in purchasing (cost savings, spend, risk management)Analytical skills are requiredStrong Excel, SAP and Power BI skills are a mustUnderstanding of data management (database management systems & connections)Excellent written & verbal communicationTeamwork skills
