The Manager, Executive Protection (EP) is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and well-being of high-profile executives and VIPs. This role involves strategic planning, risk assessment, and the management of a professional security team to mitigate threats and maintain a safe environment. The Manager, EP works closely with internal stakeholders and external agencies to develop and implement comprehensive protection strategies.This position has been segmented as Hybrid meaning there is a combination of three onsite days per week and the rest remote.
Responsibilities:
Develop, implement, and manage executive protection protocols for assigned personnel.
Conduct risk assessments, threat analysis, and vulnerability assessments for executives and facilities.
Establish a threat protection strategy utilizing third-party vendor and/or develop internal capabilities.
Plan and coordinate secure travel, including domestic and international itineraries.
Lead, train, and supervise executive protection officers and security personnel.
Collaborate with local law enforcement, security consultants, and other agencies as needed.
Monitor and evaluate security technologies and systems to ensure maximum effectiveness.
Manage budgets, contracts, and vendor relationships for security-related services.
Respond to incidents and emergencies, making quick and informed decisions to protect personnel.
Prepare reports, briefings, and recommendations for senior leadership regarding security matters.
Lead, mentor, and manage the executive protection team, ensuring clear direction, accountability, and professional development.
Establish team protocols, assign responsibilities, and monitor performance to maintain a high standard of security operations.
Foster a culture of collaboration, vigilance, and continuous improvement within the protection and overall security team.

Supervision:
Manages 1–2 full-time executive protection associates and coordinates with contracted security personnel as needed, providing guidance, oversight, and accountability to ensure effective protection operations.
Relationships:
Internal: Collaborates with executives, senior leadership, HR, Safety, facilities, IT/security teams, and administrative staff to ensure seamless planning and execution of executive protection operations.
External: Builds and maintains relationships with law enforcement, security vendors, contractors, and other external partners to support effective executive protection operations.
Minimum Qualifications:
Must possess a minimum of 7 years of experience in executive protection, close protection, high-level security management, law enforcement, military or private security.
Strong leadership, team management, and organizational skills.
Ability to operate effectively under high-stress and high-profile situations.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of risk assessment, threat mitigation, and security technology.
Valid driver’s license; travel readiness required.
Required 75% of travel.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Law Enforcement, Military Science, or a related field or relevant work experience is required.
Certifications/Training:
First Aid / CPR / Tactical medical training
Experience managing multi-jurisdictional protection operations.
Licenses:
Valid driver’s license required & motor vehicle record must be in good standing.
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience managing multi-person executive protection teams.
Graduate of the FBI National Academy or equivalent advanced federal law enforcement training program
Defensive tactics, firearms proficiency, and tactical medical training.
Certifications in Executive Protection (e.g., ASIS CPP, PSP).
Experience with secure domestic and international travel planning for executives or VIPs.
Strong knowledge of threat assessment, risk mitigation, and security technologies.
Ability to remain calm and make decisions under high-pressure situations.
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
Proven ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion at all times.

Compensation depends on relevant experience and/or education, specific skills, function, geographic location, and other factors as applicable by law (for example: state minimum wage thresholds). The expected base rate for this role is between
