Job Description
This position will develop, implement and maintain Global EHS programs and provide technical expertise to AbbVie’s global organization within the scope of responsibility. The role will also lead cross-functional efforts to strengthen regulatory compliance, continuous improvement, and EHS performance across the region.
Responsibilities :
Develop and maintain EHS Global standards, policies, systems and programs applicable to area of responsibilityProvide EHS leadership and direction for management, professional, technical and support staff in area of responsibilityServe as the regional EHS partner to manufacturing sites in the assigned region, providing support, direction, and technical expertise to help drive compliance, performance, and continuous improvementEnsure systems are in place to enable area of responsibility to operate in legal and ethical compliance with regard to EHS issuesProvide business perspective, strategic and tactical direction to develop and implement EHS initiatives for the EHS Long range planAuthority to represent AbbVie externally on matters related to EHS with external regulatory agencies and non-government organizationsMaintain a broad understanding of local, regional and global EHS regulations and practices for areas of responsibilityMaintain and update IT reporting databases and generate monthly and quarterly EHS performance reports for area managementSupport compliance with applicable EPA, OSHA, State, and Local regulatory requirementsCreates a safety culture by setting direction to reduce or eliminate operations-related injuries or accidents, damage/loss of product or equipment, and unnecessary costs by ensuring that all equipment and facilities are maintained consistent with the safety, security, hygiene and standards set by AbbVie.Lead cross-functional EHS projects and continuous improvement initiatives that strengthen compliance, operational performance, and drives risk reduction across the regionSupport the development and execution of standardized regional processes, metrics, and governance practicesPartner with site and leadership to influence EHS priorities, remove barriers, and ensure effective implementation of EHS programs.Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree (EHS related, Engineering) plus 5 – 12 years of EHS related experience or Master’s Degree (EHS related, Engineering) plus 5 – 10 years of EHS related experience. EHS related experience in manufacturing/R&D/Environmental is preferred. EHS or Engineering professional certification is preferred, but not required.Working experience in implementing EHS regulations, conducting incident investigations, interacting with regulatory agencies and external organizations and managing cross functional teamsDevelopment of practical, applicable standards and/or policies that meet business objectives.Technical expertise in the EHS functions as well as technical writing and business communications.Ability to actively listen, build and maintain effective working relationships with internal/ external colleagues and stakeholders, and resolve conflictAbility to successfully manage projects and programs.Ability to lead with initiative, drive continuous improvement, and influence stakeholders across all levels of the organization.Ability to travel 10%

The compensation range described below is the range of possible base pay compensation that the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of this posting based on the job grade for this position. Individual compensation paid within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location, and we may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range. This range may be modified in the future.

This job is eligible to participate in our long-term incentive programs.
