About the Role
As a Drafting Strategy Manager, you’ll be at the forefront of redefining how legal professionals draft documents—leveraging the power of generative AI to streamline workflows, elevate quality, and transform the practice of law. You’ll help shape the future of LexisNexis’s AI-driven drafting solutions across the U.S., Canada, and the U.K. This high-impact, cross-functional role is ideal for a strategic, results-oriented self-starter passionate about AI, legal tech, and customer-centered innovation. You’ll lead initiatives that drive product innovation, market growth, and customer value—collaborating with product, content, segment, marketing, and sales teams to execute a forward-looking drafting strategy.
Responsibilities
Shape the global AI-driven legal drafting strategy, identifying and executing organic and inorganic opportunities—including innovation partnerships and acquisitions—that accelerate LexisNexis’s leadership in generative AI for legal professionalsDrive AI product and content investment decisions by synthesizing market trends, customer feedback, and competitive intelligence; develop business cases that advance differentiated, AI-powered drafting experiencesCollaborate with product and content teams to develop, launch, and grow innovative AI-powered drafting solutions, ensuring alignment with customer workflows and strategic visionChampion the voice of the legal professional, by deeply understanding transactional and litigation drafting workflows to guide internal product and strategy decisionsPartner cross-functionally with Segment, Marketing, and Sales to support go-to-market strategies, including pricing, packaging, and positioning that effectively communicate the value propositionConduct deep market and competitive analysis with a focus on AI trends and emerging technologies, identify unmet customer needs, and proactively explore strategic prioritiesEvaluate partnership/alliance and acquisition opportunities and lead relationship-building with third partiesRequirements
Product management, strategy, consulting or similar experience requiredJD or experience in legal practice, legal tech or document drafting workflows strongly preferredProven track record of developing and executing strategic initiatives—ideally involving AI, SaaS, or legal technologyStrong analytical skills, with the ability to interpret both qualitative insight and quantitative data to drive decisionsExceptional communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across cross-functional teams and leadership levelsExperience navigating matrixed organizations and working across product, content, marketing, and commercial teamsComfort with tools for analysis, collaboration and presentation (e.g. Excel, PowerPoint, Copilot, AI/LLM chat interfaces)Location-flexible: NYC tri-state area preferred, will consider remote
