The Distribution Center Area Manager is responsible for providing leadership to individual contributors and hourly workforce to ensure the execution of daily tasks and activities including timely, accurate product receipt, order fulfillment, and the organization of resources and processes. Manage processes to ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, continual process improvement and drive associate initiatives to create and promote engagement among team members. Involved in the interviewing, training, and coaching process. Consults with Operations Manager on operational goals and need for additional headcount, overtime or equipment needs to meet the established goals.
Responsibilities Supervise associates in warehouse operations to include assisting in identifying, developing, coaching, and retaining talent. Participate in interviewing for hourly vacancies, make hiring recommendations, facilitate area specific onboarding for new hires. Oversee training, ensuring associates receive appropriate training for their assigned job functions. Foster an engaged team environment where daily goals can be achieved.Supervise and manage day-to-day activities.Conduct daily start-up meetings to relay general information or to address specific topics, such as daily production goals and safety tips.Promote 5S program within functional areas.Communicate job expectations and ensure adherence to company developed SOP’s and compliance of company policies, processes, and procedures.Ability to be "hands on" as needed to assist with various warehouse responsibilities.Evaluate associate performance, provide proactive performance feedback, and prepare performance appraisals for associates within assigned functions.Monitor attendance, productivity, and other performance markers and provide counseling to include recognition and/or corrective action to associates as needed.Manage time, attendance, and schedules (schedule updates, PTO, Sick, etc.) for assigned functional area(s).Monitor and approve associate time sheets prior to the payroll close period.Partner with Human Resources and Operations Manager to address and resolve associate concerns.Consult, coordinate, and partner with other functional areas for maximum performance.Other Functions:

High school diploma or equivalent requiredBachelor's degree in related field preferredCombination of intellectual instruction and work experienceRequired Knowledge
Knowledge of distribution center processes, practices and toolsBasic computer skills to include MS Word, Excel and OutlookExperience Required
Minimum of 1 to 2 years’ experience supervising & leading people in a warehouse environment.1-2 years' experience utilizing WMS Systems.Skill and Ability
