Manager - Data Engineering
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Manager to lead our Data Technology team. As the Manager of Data Delivery, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our data-driven organization and contribute significantly to our success. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in Data Engineering and will be responsible for leading a team of engineers to develop and deliver high-quality products that align with our business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and mentor a high-performing organization of engineers and analysts. Acquires and develops data, analytics and integration engineering talent. Ensures appropriate resource management and planning.Accountable for project delivery and communication to stakeholders and executive leadership, ensuring transparency and alignment.Build and maintain relationships with vendors and technology partners negotiating cost and reviewing contract.Stay up to date with emerging technologies and best practices, and identify opportunities for their integration into our systems.Develop and manage the IT budget, ensuring expenditures are in line with business objectives and goals.Partner with external vendors to augment resources and meet project demands effectively.Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills, conveying technical information clearly and concisely. Actively engage in informal communication with team members and other stakeholders to promote continuous information exchange.Optimizes team processes and maturing of best practices. Develops relevant artifacts for communication, direction, delivery, quality, and solutions for the roadmap.Embrace the Buil-It-Run-It operating model by ensuring the team owns solutions end-to-end while serving as the primary escalation point and acting as Incident Commander Role to coordinate rapid response to Critical Production Incidents
Qualifications:
Engineering leader with experience in the Retail and CPG Technology space.Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.5+ years of experience in data engineering, analytics engineering, or project management.2+ years of experience managing teams of engineers, data scientists, and analysts.Strong understanding of data architecture, data management, and data governance principles.Experience with agile methodologies and software development best practices.Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.Familiarity with cloud platforms and technologies, such as Google Cloud, and their data services.Experience working with the latest cloud data platforms and technologies such as Databricks, Snowflake and TIBCO and Enterprise Business Intelligence technologies like MicroStrategy, Tableau, Power BI, ThoughtSpot and/or Sigma.Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
