Job Description

Public Storage is seeking a Manager, Data Analytics to lead analytics capabilities for our Real Estate Finance organization. This role will drive the modernization of our financial reporting infrastructure, develop advanced analytical models, and build self-service analytics capabilities that empower Finance teams with timely, accurate insights for strategic decision-making. 

As a key individual contributor in a management capacity, this position will play a critical role in supporting our evolving analytics and reporting capabilities. 

Key Responsibilities 

Financial Reporting & Data Infrastructure 

Develop and maintain Real Estate Finance BI reports and dashboards 

Ensure data accuracy and integrity through enhanced validation and reconciliation processes 

Support ongoing analytics platform improvements and enterprise initiatives 

Advanced Analytics & Strategic Insights 

Develop advanced analytical models (forecasting, variance analysis, portfolio performance) using Python and statistical methods 

Create executive-level dashboards that surface actionable insights for portfolio strategy and investment decisions 

Deliver regular insights briefings to Real Estate Finance leadership with data-driven strategic recommendations 

Maintain high stakeholder satisfaction with quality and timeliness of analytics deliverables 

Technology & Platform Development 

Support cloud-based analytics platform adoption and implementation 

Develop production-grade solutions to support data infrastructure and analytics automation 

Contribute to enterprise data governance framework and analytics standards 

Self-Service Analytics & Team Enablement 

Empower stakeholders to self-serve via various tools 

Reduce ad-hoc report request through proactive dashboard development and user enablement 

Partner with Finance leadership to define KPIs and metrics framework for Real Estate portfolio performance tracking 

Strategic Collaboration & Innovation 

Partner closely with Finance, IT, and business stakeholders on strategic initiatives 

Participate in cross-functional knowledge-sharing and continuous improvement efforts 

Investigate and evaluate emerging analytics opportunities including AI/ML applications 

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field 

6+ years of progressive experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or financial analysis

Prior experience within a REIT or Storage environment highly desired 

Python: Advanced proficiency for data analysis, automation, and production-grade analytics solutions. SQL: Expert-level querying and data manipulation skills. Business Intelligence Tools: Strong experience with modern BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, Looker) including dashboard development, data modeling, and advanced formulas. Data Transformation: Proficient in ETL processes and data preparation tools. Cloud Platforms: Experience accessing and interacting with cloud-based analytics platforms 

Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities with demonstrated ability to learn new technologies quickly 

Deep understanding of real estate finance, financial reporting cycles, and portfolio analysis 

Experience with data warehouse architecture and data integration concepts 

Exceptional communication skills with ability to train and enable business users on self-service analytics 

Collaborative approach with ability to partner across Finance, IT, and business units
