As Manager, Corporate Strategy & Development, you’ll play a key role in shaping the future of our organization by managing high-impact projects aligned with our 3-year strategy and long-term objectives. Here’s where you’ll be focusing: Support Corporate Strategy & Development + Collaborate with the strategy team on internal strategic initiatives critical to delivering the overall organizational strategy + Conduct industry and competitive landscape analysis, identifying key retail and consumer trends to uncover growth opportunities + Provide analytical support for inorganic growth initiatives, including M&A and partnership exploration Strategic Project Management + Lead and deliver assigned projects on time, within budget, and to scope and quality expectations + Analyze data to identify trends and develop actionable recommendations + Create execution roadmaps and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams + Build strong relationships with executive stakeholders and serve as the primary point of contact and escalation for select strategic projects + Manage stakeholder expectations and drive alignment through effective communication and change management strategies + Develop and present materials for steering committees, leadership meetings, and other key forums + Prepare executive and Board-level materials to synthesize findings and secure approvals + Influence decision-makers and secure buy-in for recommendations, ensuring successful implementation and impact realization + Stay current on industry trends and bring innovative thinking into the business Problem Solving, Analysis & Insights + Help define problem statements and clarify desired outcomes + Formulate hypotheses and design analyses to test them + Conduct quantitative analysis and generate insights + Perform qualitative research through desk research, stakeholder engagement, and expert interviews What you have to offer: + Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or Engineering + At least 8 years of experience in an in-house strategy function within a large, public organization + Strong business acumen in Retail, Food, or Consumer Goods industries in Canada is a plus + High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint + Extensive experience in building strategic models and frameworks + Exposure to project management practices + Corporate development experience is beneficial #LI-Hybrid #LI-LM1 At Sobeys we require our teammates to have the ability to adhere to a hybrid work model that requires your presence at one of our office locations at least three days per week.
