Purpose of the job
Responsible for the implementation and support of all corporate data network and security projects serving Orange premises, fixed line (formerly LDN), shops, franchises, branches, Orange employees, remote access, call center voice and applications, VPN, internet and IT critical applications to meet the business plans for new services and achieving the target network availability for all equipment and IT systems to ensure meeting the target business and service plans and attaining the business objectives and departments KPIs.
Managing the operations of all devices including firewalls Cisco and Juniper, Cisco multilayer switches, Cisco routers, AAA, WIFI, wireless LAN controller, F5 load balancers LTM & ASM, RSA, APM remote access, proxy, domain controller, e-mail, and others.
Duties and responsibilitiesFunctional management
Forecast, plan and manage corporate network and security OPEX and CAPEX budgets for Orange and fixed (formerly LDN) networks. Establish, negotiate and monitor the contractual and operational contracts/agreements with all relevant vendors (such as Cisco, Juniper, F5) and service providers including negotiating terms and conditions, prices, SLAs, penalties, escalations, contracts, processes, etc., and ensure proper vendor operations according to the agreements. Handle vendor selection activities whenever needed including stating requirements, handling RFPs/RFQs, negotiations with the vendors, preparing the needed resources till the final selection and the proper operations. Participate as a major stakeholder in the selection of new products and technologies with all vendors. Manage business and operational risks in case of major incidents to ensure meeting the company objectives. Ensure putting proper business continuity, disaster recovery and contingency plans and ensure the proper implementation whenever required. Develop a broad and comprehensive understanding of the different technologies, systems, theories, industry, the relevant commercial environment and practices in all the relevant domains and keep abreast with the new developments and accordingly make the necessary changes to the existing practices and policies. Responsible for achieving the team KPIs (time to market for new services/network changes, network availability, meeting internal and external SLAs, network KPIs) which impacts directly external customers (such as call centers), indirectly external customers (such as business applications and shops), all Orange employees and all IT projects and services. Able to achieve network, business and commercial objectives based on the analysis, evaluation and complex decision making from multiple sources in complex situations that require large experience; this applies to the launch of new services, network changes/upgrades, and to the complex issues faced in live operations. The team functions together are carrying all Orange mobile and fixed call centers, IT applications, Orange internal network including mobile and fixed, shops and hence it has a direct impact on Orange revenue, image, internal and external customer satisfaction (NPS) in all Orange mobile domains including the network/services quality already provided to those customers and is directly impacting nearly all network teams inside Orange. This applies to the launch/deployment of new services, network changes and to its stability; then full control of the operations has to be done to ensure meeting target KPIs and highest network availability. Follow up and enforce network security policies in his domain in order to protect all equipment under control plus all Orange network and IT services/servers as well. Initiate the process, follow up end to end to ensure timely renewals for all contracts, licenses under responsibility to secure the business and operations. Manage a team of senior engineers, professionals and subject matter experts specialized in network, IP technologies and network security fully responsible for their development, hiring, future needs, coaching, motivation, etc. Coordinate with other teams in and out of the Technology department to ensure proper workflow and timely implementation of major projects in line with the business plans and objectives. Keep up to date with the state of the art technologies for all corporate network and security technologies. Participate in all IT projects and interface with different functions across Orange to meet the project time plan and to achieve the project target and business plans/deadlines. Achieve and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of the major IT applications/systems and their operations to meet the target network and IT systems availability, stability and quality. Responsible for the gathering and analysis of quantitative and qualitative information in complicated or new problems from all available resources to ensure meeting the team's objectives and KPIs including network availability, time to market for new services/projects and recovery time in case of incidents. Engage in complex issues that involve multiple teams and require excellent communication and negotiation skills with colleagues in other teams/departments, management of all levels, vendors and other external entities. Manage large operational projects or series of activities to ensure timely implementation, proper and timely allocation of the needed resources, resolving conflicts/issues and getting all needed technical information to meet the business objectives and deadlines. Ensure a proper methodology during the diagnosis of problems, taking appropriate actions and handling the business priorities based on comparing all alternative solutions in order to take the suitable decision. Responsible for the establishment and documentation of internal team processes and OLAs/SLAs. Lead the team to ensure that all projects, activities and tasks are in progress according to the committed deadlines. Update team's know-how with new products, technologies and management systems. Replacement of end of sale/support equipment in the corporate network which includes many challenging steps to ensure minimal impact on live environment. Ensure regular and proper reporting of network performance, service availability and team activities to the director. People management Interview and select direct reports and validate hiring decisions for the team. Provide coaching and request needed training for direct reports ensuring continuous individual development. Ensure a healthy working environment for the department employees through focusing on team building and motivation initiatives. Conduct regular performance and competency evaluations for direct reports while delivering constant constructive feedback for higher achievements and further development. Develop work and quality standards to be followed by team members. Lead, motivate, develop, inspire, and encourage the team to attain their objectives. Manage the training plan and budget. Ensure team's awareness of the company quality standards, procedures, business priorities and policies. Job specificationEducation
Bachelor of Science in Engineering - Electronics & Communications or Computer Engineering Departments.
Experience
At least 8 years of experience in network implementation and troubleshooting. Good knowledge of data network concepts and devices (IP networks, switching, routing protocols, IP VPNs, firewalls, Nexus, load balancers). Preferred technical certifications at least (CCNP, CCSP, SANS Security, JNCIS, JNCIP, etc.). Solid knowledge of network and network security devices configuration and troubleshooting.
