**Purpose**
Plays a vital role in advancing the success of the Global Transaction Banking (GTB) Communications team by executing individual goals, plans, and initiatives that align with the team’s business strategies and objectives. Ensures all actions taken adhere to applicable regulations, as well as internal policies and procedures.
The Manager is accountable for creating and delivering outstanding communications that support the GTB team. This role actively participates in developing communication strategies that foster understanding and effective implementation of GTB and Bank-wide objectives, while collaborating with internal stakeholders to strengthen communications for the business and the Bank as a whole.
**Is this role right for you? In this role, you will be involved in:**
+ Leads and drives a client focused culture throughout their team to deepen client relationships and leverage broader Bank relationships, systems and knowledge.
+ Oversees and aligns communications strategies for international markets across Scotiabank’s footprint with emphasis in our priority markets (Canada, U.S, and Mexico).
+ Develop and execute communication activities, including:
+ Develop and refresh the GTB narrative, communications strategy, communications plans and other relevant milestones in alignment with the Bank’s global narrative and priorities.
+ Lead proactive communications strategies and message development, coaching and advising leaders, writing, production, and distribution of messages.
+ Develops strategies to protect and enhance the reputation of the Bank.
+ Ensure appropriate coordination and alignment of communications strategy and programs in International Banking.
+ Leads and designs creative and strategic communication plans for International Banking by:
+ Creating robust, multi-media, strategic communication plans.
+ Meeting executive communications needs for business programs and initiatives.
+ Proactively communicate the GTB strategy and ongoing execution of communications plans to enhance the profile of leaders and initiatives with external key audiences.
+ Develops issues management strategies and plans to protect the reputation of the Bank.
+ Work closely with the GTB leaders to integrate traditional media with social media communication plans by:
+ Working with our partners to advance communication plans and goals to position the Bank as a banking leader in our key markets.
+ Providing media and social media support.
+ Establishing mechanisms to execute communications plans and achieve global alignment with countries, teams and departments across the Bank.
+ Understand how the Bank’s risk appetite and risk culture should be considered in day-to-day activities and decisions.
+ Creates an environment in which his/her team pursues effective and efficient operations of his/her respective areas in accordance with Scotiabank’s Values, its Code of Conduct and the Global Sales Principles, while ensuring the adequacy, adherence to and effectiveness of day-to-day business controls to meet obligations with respect to operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions and conduct risk.
+ Builds a high performance environment and implements a people strategy that attracts, retains, develops and motivates their team by fostering an inclusive work environment and using a coaching mindset and behaviors; communicating vision/values/business strategy; and, managing succession and development planning for the team.
**Do you have the skills that will enable you to succeed? We’d love to work with you if you have the following:**
+ University Degree.
+ Fluency in Spanish is an asset, but not a mandatory requirement for this position.
+ 5+ years of experience in corporate communications, financial communications, digital banking, project management, marketing communications and/or public relations.
+ Proven strategic planning skills and exceptional written communication skills with a demonstrated ability to communicate and drive audience engagement.
+ Social media with demonstrated experience leveraging the latest communication vehicles to effectively communicate with key audiences.
+ Working knowledge of financials and experience in the financial services industry including digital assets is an asset.
+ Influencing, negotiation and persuasion skills.
+ Excellent project management skills.
+ Strong interpersonal, communications and relationship management skill.
**Working Conditions**
+ Work in a standard office-based environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence. Limited travel Internationally, if required.
